I was hired by her General Contractor nor Mrs***The General Contractor had starting tearing apart her kitchen and some walls and was ready for a electrician he had scheduledMy
company was not the electrical contractor the General had firts hired and scheduledThe General called me up and stated that he needed to hire a another electrician because, his first electrician was not returning phone callsHe had this ladies kitchen torn apart and needed someone fastWe are also very busy but I told the General that I would stop and take a look at it I stopped and looked at the job and gave her General a proposal for $2950.00, when I was there I never talked to Mrs*** , she was not there.
The General stated at the time I gave him the proposal that he would have to have the customer approve for us to startThe next day he called and stated that Mrs*** was ok with the price and we should proceed
This was a kitchen remodel, wall came out, wires had to rerouted, recessed can installed in a old ceiling, outlets and switches installedwiring had to be disconnected
At no time has the customer complained about what was installed or had problem with the work completed
Work was completed 4/22/
Stokes sent her a bill that she agreed to pay through her General for the amount that was proposed, $
Stokes Electric never asked for a down payment or progress payments until the job was completed
I called her after not getting any payment for several weeks and was wondering what was going on with the paymentShe was very angry and stated that Stokes had overcharged her for the work Stokes completedI told her that this was a bid and that if she had not wanted to pay that amount she should have said from the start rather than waiting till all the work is completed and deciding it was too much
She made several accusations about my character and what kind of a person was, how could I that could treat a women that lost her husband like thisShe asked me how I would feel if I had died and some contractor treated my wife like I treated herShe accused me of noticing that she had a swimming pool and charging her more because I thought she was rich I stated to her that I never really noticed she had a pool at allShe stated that she was going to tell everyone that she knew what a awful contractor I was
After that conversation I called her back about hour later trying to work things out and offered to take $of her bill if she sent the balance of $by the end of the week which was already into the end of MayShe accepted my offer and she would send the check for the agreed amount of $
Several weeks went by a had I received a check for $and a written statement by her that she was not going to pay any more and that was all I had comingThis was after she verbally agreed to pay the $I waited for a few weeks for her to calm down and called her two times and there was no answer to have her send the balance or give me a call as to why she was holding the balance of $
I sent her another invoice again stating to her in a calm matter that she needed to pay, she finally sent me a check for $and stated that I only installed Five recessed lights not six. This check was received on 8/17/almost four months after we startedshe then threatened me with calling the Revdex.com and filing a complaintFiling a complaint after we had settled on a lower amount already
So in conclusion,
The General Contractor hired me not Mrs***, I did not know she was to pay me directlyShe had approved the cost of the job through her General Contractor
She has already been given a Credit of $from Stokes to settle this matterShe has and continues to be angry, rude and close to being libelShe wants a settlement from Revdex.com and she already has agreed to a settlement verbally with Stokes Electric and then was late with any payment at allIt took almost two months to get any paymentI never charged any interest even though my invoices state that in the bottomShe asking for a settlement of $after she agreed to previous settlement of $and it really ended being $final
In closing, I feel Stokes Electric have done all that is possible in trying to handle a very rude and very angry customer and I have returned all phone call and asked all questions Stokes Electric considers this matter closed and will not pay any more settlement other than was credited to dateRespectfully Stokes Electric will not answer or have any more conversations about this matter with the Revdex.com or Mrs***
This matter is closed and settled as agreed in a previous conversation with the customer and the General Contractor
Sincerely,
*** ***
