Demolition Services Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I contacted demolition services inc. in regards to having a 2 level enclosed porch demolished and hauled away. First, I did a search online and came upon there site. Once I clicked on the site, a chat screen option popped up. I gave my information and was informed someone would be calling to discuss my project. I received an email about an hour later stating they would not be able to provide services for my project. There was no reason why such as your job is too small, we don't come to that part of town,we are too busy, etc. They advertise residential services for Washington D.C. and that is what I have.

I contacted them again via chat and asked why was my project denied. The person could not answer why but stated they could resubmit my request. They did and this time I requested to receive a call instead of an email. I got another email that stated "[redacted], No, I'm sorry we will not be able to do this job for you. " word for word...there was no employee name attached to the email. This company is A rated with Revdex.com. This is a company advertising to the public and the response I received was far less than professional and definitely far less than A rated.Desired Settlement: I would like to know the reason for turning my project down without talking to me first. I would not be interested in using them, just a bit of common decency or courtesy from a public business would be appreciated since that is what they received from me.

Response:

Good morning. We have researched this compalaint as we are an "A" rated company and take our customer satisfaction seriously.

First, as you will see in the first attachment, we were contacted by [redacted] and asked for a price on the demolition and removal of two enclosed porches. We responded "Thank you for choosing us. DSI will, respectfully, not be able to provide services for this project." The response we got, also attached, was "I contacted you a couple of hours ago and recieved an email stating your company was respectfully declining to assist me my email is [redacted]. I have a 2 unit apartment building that has 2 enclosed porches...I want the porches demolished and hauled" It also stated "will they call me and actually come out" To this we responded "[redacted], No, I'm sorry we will not be able to do this job for you."

As you can see, we gave a courteous and professional answer to the his first request to do the porches and then again when he made a second request after we stated we wouldn't be able to do the project. While our website does state that we do residential work, most of our residential work is on a larger scale. We do not currently do porhces and things of that nature. We recieve numerous requests for bids and work of all types and we have never had anyone request an explanation as to why we couldn't do their job. That is not the nature of our business. Contractors simply want a yes or a no when asked if you will be bidding a job as they typically look at several contractors at once to get the best price for their work.

In addition, [redacted] did not ask "why" we couldn't do his job as he stated in his complaint, nor did he ask for a phone call instead of an email as he states. He simply left both his email address and phone number and asked of we were going to call him and "actually come out" to meet with him. Again, we had already stated that we could not perform the services he was requesting, so we repsponded with a "No" because we would not be calling or coming out to see the job as he asked.

It is unfortunate that [redacted] felt he wasn't assited in the way he should have been. However, as a company that performs for contractors up and down the east coast, I am sure that our references speak to our customer service and the value we place in it. We take pride in our work and we treat our customers with the respect that is expected of a reputable company. This complaint seems very hypercritical in nature. Regardless, we will do our best to resolve any issues that may arise, especially those that involve the satisfaction of our customers and clients. If we can be of any more assistance in this matter, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Respectfully,

Demolition Services, Inc.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: In the response from the business, they stated I did not ask "why" they could not do the job and that I did not ask for a phone call. Both of these statements are incorrect. If the log of the second chat session is presented, it will show I asked "why" ... the representative I was chatting with could not tell me "why" they could not do the job since he was not located at the office. I also asked specifically for someone to call me which is in the log as well. The business still did not state "why" they could not do my job. The business stated they answered me professionally. I will admit they did give me a professional "blow off".

Response:

Good morning. Again, we gave a professional response to the client as the question was presented to us. The chat questions come to us from a third party. As you can see from the prior attachments, the copies of the chat session we recieved, we responded to the client's question as we recieved them. Yet again, we are being asked for information that we provided already. If the client read our response that we sent yesterday to his complaint, it stated:

"While our website does state that we do residential work, most of our residential work is on a larger scale. We do not currently do porhces and things of that nature."

However, just as before, the client is asking the same question for something we already responded to. The client asked "why" we could not do the job he requested, and as you can see above, we answered his very question. While we strive to keep customers at the forefront of our business, we will not entertain anymore communication in this matter. We cannot answer any of the clients questions any more than we already have. Again, our apologies and best of luck with your future endeavors and your porch demolition.

Respectfully,

Demolition Services, Inc.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
