A representative from Homesteadfi.org contacted me on my cell line.. I called them back to see what they wanted. The representative Denine.. Stewart told me about their refinance programs for people under water with their home.. I politely told her that we do not qualify because we pay our mortgage every month and those programs are for borrowers who are struggling and can't pay their mortgage... she assured me that her program was Not for struggling borrowers... I told her that my husband and I know that the program for us is not passed congress and is called Harp 3... For homeowners who pay their mortgage yet who are under water. Ms Stewart assured me that the program is for people who are not struggling..so, I give my husband her info and informed him about this so called program... she gets him on the line and tells him to STOP paying our mortgage aND send homestead $1400.00 for 3 months... this would put us in a nearly foreclosure status and damage my husband's 790 credit score. Is she Insane?.. when my husband contacted me back with this information, I called ms Stewart back and told her I didn't appreciate her lying about the program being for struggling borrowes... if we were in fact struggling, we wouldn't need Homestead to tell us to stop paying the mortgage. Ms. Stewart is misrepresenting the program just to get a sales commission.. this is why the housing market is in such shambles when you have people like ms. Stewart out rig bet Lying to consumers.
