In response to your letter received 12/12/2016, Not sure why the patient's parent felt there was no charge for her consultation with Dr. [redacted] as we always charge for procedures rendered, including consultations. The patient's parent was given a walk out statement at the end of the visit when...
she was dismissed and it would have shown the balance due at the bottom. If a patient comes in with insurance, as a courtesy, we bill their insurance, but if the insurance company denies payment, patient is always aware they will be responsible for balance, and coincidentally this was what happened in her case. I am rejecting this response because:I was told THERE WAS NO CHARGE FOR THE CONSULTATION. It's not ethical to change terms of an agreement AFTER you provide a service. If there was a fee for the consultation why was't I asked to pay at the time of service? And not billed at a later time? They knew the EXACT date of the exam with her dentist since they requested the X-rays from them.
