Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: Our issue with Dennis Uniforms was never about whether or not they manufacture SOME of their products in the USA Our complaint is that their website overtly suggests that ALL of their products are manufactured in the USA unless you
are willing to read a few carefully crafted sentences buried two or three pages deep in their website While we applaud their decision to keep some of their manufacturing in the USA, we simply wish that their website more clearly delineated which products are manufactured in the US and which are not.For example, when purchasing boys pants, never do you find any reference to the fact that ALL of the boys are imported, let alone where they are imported from (Noting at least that a clothing product is imported seems to be standard on most clothing websites.) However, every page does have the footer stating “A domestic manufacturer, many DENNIS uniform items are handcrafted in our union “shop” in Portland, Oregon, USA.” (Emphasis added) This sentence suggested to me and I’m sure many others that while maybe not all items are manufactured in Portland, they are still manufactured domestically somewhere else in the USA In the end we feel we were purposely misled into purchasing boys pants that were manufactured in the Dominican Republic by workers working in unknown conditions and unknown pay, all the while thinking we were purchasing pants from a domestic manufacturer and supporting domestic workers working in acceptable conditions. We are not seeking anything other than a more accurate portrayal of the company’s true manufacturing sources Since the company offers many, many products, but really only manufactures THREE of them in the US, this seems to be out of proportion to what their website overtly suggests So while we appreciate the fact that Dennis Uniforms has chosen to keep the manufacturing of a small handful of their products in the US, we reject what we view as their inadequate response to this complaint and maintain our earlier resolution requests
Sincerely,*** ***

But beyond that, and in a day and age where apparel manufacturing companies are under great scrutiny for maintaining fair labor practices, complying with safe working conditions, and assuring that they are conducting business with manufacturers that do not exploit child labor, Dennis stands alone as the only domestic manufacturer of school uniforms that produces a majority of our signature products under our own supervision and in our Portland, Oregon facility.
