Dennis Well & Pump Service, Inc Reviews (2)

Paid for 2 water wells to be tested, have not received results (over a month later). Contacted the company and have not been provided results. In early April 2015 we asked Mr. [redacted] (owner of this company) to check two water wells on our property. We need these to maintain livestock as well as run water to the house we are renovating (if the water is usable). This company came out mid-month in April, was able to take samples of one well but not the 2nd. They said the age of the 2nd pump's equip. was too old to test. We paid by debit card on the spot for their services. Since then I have called multiple times and emailed Mr. [redacted] on May 5th 2015 requesting results. My account was charged $450 on 04/10/15 yet to date, we have not received any water test results. Today I called from a different phone number and Mr. [redacted] answered. When I asked him about the situation he said he responded to my email (which I have yet to receive). I informed him that I had not received an email & when I asked him to re-send it he did not acknowledge that he could do so. Instead he got very perturbed with me. I asked again for an email with results and I asked how they usually provide results, or what processing company they use. Mr. [redacted] stated they process in house and that he 'thought the results were...' then proceeded to try to give me data off the top of his head. This won't satisfy an inspector nor is it accurate. I again requested results in email or writing. I also inquired about why they charged for two wells being tested when in fact, only one was. He didn't really have an answer for that then started to reference an old clay well on the property he was never contracted to test. I stated that what he was referring to was never asked for testing and that I was referring to the two wells that were in well houses. He was very frustrated with me, I asked if we were talking about the same property. He then stated the equipment was too old to test the second pump but didn't have a valid reason as to why he charged for testing a second well that wasn't tested. He said it was our fault for having an old well (which I informed him of the well being old before scheduling him). He then said 'what..do you want me to credit you $50?'. I stated that I didn't know what was fair but that I could call around on what it costs for additional pump testing usually. From there, I asked him to send me an email with test results, details as to why he couldn't test the second well, and an invoice or itemization as to how the $450 was charged us. He said he would get to it in two weeks because he's on vacation. He at no point in the conversation leading up to this mentioned himself being on vacation and he answered the phone originally referencing his company ("[redacted]' well and pump..."). When I asked if standard turnaround time for water test results usually exceeds a months time as in my case he hung up on me. So here I sit with no water test results, $450 gone for as I see it nothing, with an uncertainty as to if I have safe water for my livestock and family. Furthermore any results I do receive I am quite frankly unsettled as to the accuracy considering the lack of professionalism, organization, and credibility I have witnessed with this company. Desired Settlement$450.00 full refund since we have received no results, which was the whole purpose of Mr. [redacted] company being hired. Business Response Certified well contractor, [redacted], arrived on site with his technicians on April 10, 2015. They waited for the homeowner to arrive. Upon homeowner's arrival, they evaluated site. They looked at 3 wells with homeowner and [redacted] discussed our procedures with him. He explained that the pumping system in the front of the house (well #1) had equipment that needed to be replaced and could not be tested without doing so. They looked at well to the right of the house (well #2) and proceeded to test well #2 by hooking up the generator and doing a draw down test on it for 40 minutes. During testing well #2, [redacted] spoke with the homeowner and after answering his questions, explained that he thought well #2 would be enough to run the household and water the livestock. He took a sample of the water and tested it for hardness, PH and iron. The results were given verbally to his wife. Homeowner said that would be good and he would talk to his engineer about using that well only. After that discussion, they looked at well #3 which was a hand dug well with clay tile and discussed abandoning well #3 and getting a quote for that. They spoke for a few minutes after that about locating the homeowner's septic tank and videoing the sewer line to it in order to check the quality of the pipe. They collected a check from the homeowner and left.

The owner [redacted] was rude and did not provide service cost estimate at the time when the service all was placed.Dennis Well and Pump did not provide service estimate which is a practice very commonly shared by contractor in repair business. Scope of the service and fee need to be agreed upon BEFORE the service is performed. Further, Dennis was less than professional nor courteous when I asked him about the service fee. He was very rude. I believe that his fee was too high for a 30 minutes job. He did not fix the problem either. He just checked the pump and told me what the problem was. I WILL NE3VER USE HIS SERVICE NOR SHOULD ANYONE ELSE.Desired SettlementComplete refundBusiness Response I am responding to the complaint filed by [redacted] on 12/01/2014 in which your office assigned the case # [redacted].I received an email from her tenant on Saturday, November 29, 2014 that stated he had no water. I informed him that I could not get out there until Monday. On Monday morning, Ms. [redacted] called and emailed informing me that she had a problem with the gas heat. She stated that the downstairs unit had a short and that she had it fixed a couple of days earlier. She suspected there was an electrical shortage with the well pump. She said the HVAC guy told her there was a problem with a disconnect switch and they did not have the correct voltage at the well head. I asked the tenant if he had problems with any other appliances and he stated that the dryer and stove was fine, indicating the power to the house is correct. Two men in a truck drove 25 minutes from our office to the house. They went into the crawlspace and checked for voltage at the pressure switch using a voltage meter. This indicated there was only half the power needed to operate the well pump. I called Ms. [redacted] and informed her of the problem and told her she needed an electrician to fix it. She stated that the HVAC guy had also told her that. At that time we asked her for payment for our service call and she asked if there was another problem, after this problem was fixed, would I come back for free. I told her there would be an additional service call fee to cover truck fees and overhead. She became upset and refused to pay unless I agreed to come back out for free. She then called back and wanted me to explain in detail the problem so she could relay it to her electrician. Ms. [redacted] authorized a $120 service call fee and emailed me her credit card number and asked that I call her for the security code. I called and emailed her requesting the code in order to charge her card. I am not sure why she is requesting a refund since she finally responded to me with the requested credit card information after she filed this complaint. I ask that you resolve this issue with Ms. [redacted] as Dennis Well & Pump Service provides professional service with highly skilled technicians and aim to satisfy every customer.
