Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: This latest response from DentalSave contradicts what I was previously told about DentalSave’s ability to regulate and interact with the dentists in its network. In an April **, email from DentalSave regarding the unauthorized “Infection Control Fee”, I was told by a DentalSave Customer Service representative that he “can follow up with both the dental office & with [redacted] directly without using your name.” This clearly indicates that DentalSave interacts with both its [redacted] partner and its dentistsSee email pasted below.I did not ask that my policy with DentalSave be cancelled and I object to its unilateral cancellationI only asked that DentalSave honor its obligation to provide dental services at predetermined prices and conditions, and to stop unauthorized chargesI do not believe that a business in New York has the right to choose its customers or to cancel an existing contract because of customer complaintsI ask that my membership be restored immediately. Finally, as to the claim that DentalSave “does not process claim forms regarding dental procedures”, neither DentalSave nor [redacted] processes any claim forms because there aren’t anyThey only provide access to a network of dentists who have agreed to predetermined prices for certain procedures.==================================== [redacted] [redacted] m In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Regarding my complaint about the unauthorized “Infection
Control” fee I was twice charged, DentalSave alleges that it is unable to address
this because 1) the dentist doesn’t have a “direct contract with DentalSave.”,
and 2) I don’t want to be identified to the dentist’s office
Regarding the “direct contract” issue, I don’t understand
why DentalSave can’t address this unauthorized charge through the ***
Network, who DentalSave has “partnered up with.” I would think that someone within the
DentalSave/*** network has the authority to protect members from these
types of unauthorized charges by dentists who contract with this network
Otherwise, the cost of membership affords no economic advantage if dentists can
charge patients whatever fees they want for whatever dubious “services” they
have, such as “Infection Control.” (For example, how about an additional fee for “Virus Protection
Software” on the office computers ?)
Anyway, the whole point of membership is to access dentists who have
agreed to perform certain services at predetermined prices, and that isn’t
happening now
Regarding my desire not to be identified as I wish to remain
with this dentist, I note that that this dentist charges an “Infection Control”
fee to all her patients, including DentalSave members, and not just to meThis
could be confirmed just by calling the dentist’s office, despite DentalSave’s
claim that their “hands are tied” by my wish not to be identified
I do not want to have to go through the effort and expense
of finding another dentist - paying for copies of records and X-rays to be
transferred, an initial exam with a new dentist, etcIf DentalSave wants to
refund the amount I was overcharged, it could do so without identifying me by
collecting the overcharge from my dentist, then sending me a checkWhat
objection, if any, does DentalSave have to doing this ?
Also, what enforcement mechanism exists within the DentalSave/***
network to stop their dentists from imposing unauthorized fees on DentalSave
members ? And what will prevent this fee
from being added to my bill at my next dental appointment ?
I appreciate Dental’s offer to pay for the next six (6)
months of my monthly membershipHowever, I note that DentalSave’s response to
my complaint did not address why they failed to respond to my latest emailed
and faxed inquiries regarding the unauthorized “Infection Control” fee, a
problem they admit they’ve known about since April of
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This latest response from DentalSave contradicts what I was previously told about DentalSave’s ability to regulate and interact with the dentists in its network. In an April **, 2014 email from DentalSave regarding the unauthorized “Infection Control Fee”, I was told by a DentalSave Customer Service representative that he “can follow up with both the dental office & with [redacted] directly without using your name.” This clearly indicates that DentalSave interacts with both its [redacted] partner and its dentists. See email pasted below.I did not ask that my policy with DentalSave be cancelled and I object to its unilateral cancellation. I only asked that DentalSave honor its obligation to provide dental services at predetermined prices and conditions, and to stop unauthorized charges. I do not believe that a business in New York has the right to choose its customers or to cancel an existing contract because of customer complaints. I ask that my membership be restored immediately. Finally, as to the claim that DentalSave “does not process claim forms regarding dental procedures”, neither DentalSave nor [redacted] processes any claim forms because there aren’t any. They only provide access to a network of dentists who have agreed to predetermined prices for certain procedures.====================================[redacted]

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Please be advised that the initial email received by
DentalSave from [redacted]
[redacted] on April *, was a question regarding the
$lab fee that was charged in addition to the dental crown that was being
made by [redacted] of Columbus, OH.
An email response was sent by a DentalSave customer representative on
April *, 2014, informing [redacted] that DentalSave providers are not allowed
to charge lab fees in addition to the dental crowns. However, [redacted] Network, which [redacted]
is a part of, allows the charge of lab fees which is clearly stated on the
[redacted] Network fee schedule that we have attached as proof.
On April *, 2014, we sent another response to [redacted]'s
inquiry explaining to him that DentalSave Network providers are limited mainly
to the east coast and to serve our members in the other states where we do not
have any dentist listed, we partnered up with [redacted] International which
has a more extensive provider network.
[redacted] International sets their own fee schedule. DentalSave has no say in how it is
structured.
[redacted]'s later response to our April *, email was
the first mention of inquiry regarding the $"Infection Control" fee that
was charged to him by [redacted]'s office.
He later sent us a copy of an itemized bill he received which included
the $disputed fee. However, we can
only contact the dental office and inquire about the $and ask for a
courtesy refund because [redacted] providers are bound by the [redacted]
International fee schedule, not by DentalSave fee schedule. We cannot force [redacted]'s office to refund
the fee because they do not have a direct contract with DentalSave. [redacted] also emphatically asked us not to
identify him as the patient whose bill we were inquiring about because he
stated on his email on April **, 2014. If we cannot identify him as the patient
involved with the inquiry, then our hands are tied for there is no way for the dental
office to get in contact with him
As for the requested resolution to the problem, DentalSave
is not able to refund him the $"Infection Control" fee because we have to
abide by [redacted] International's policies.
We can however, gladly refund him the months of membership fees paid to
DentalSave for we firmly standby our "customer satisfaction with our Plan is guaranteed"
mantra.
Attach please find the documents we have on file pertaining to the email correspondence between [redacted] and DentalSave, a copy of the [redacted] International Fee Schedule assigned to [redacted]'s office, and the itemized bill sent by [redacted] to DentalSave.Thank you for your time

Review: DentalSave offers membership access to a network of dentists who have agreed to provide services at discounted prices. Membership in DentalSave costs $8.95 per month.

I first contacted DentalSave by email in April of 2014 about a dentist who was adding an unauthorized "Infection Control" fee to the bills of DentalSave patients. DentalSave said this was not allowed and that they would contact the dentist.

On a subsequent visit to the same dentist, I was again charged this unauthorized fee. I complained in an email to DentalSave on December **, 2014, that the same dentist was charging the same unauthorized fee. This meant that I was not receiving the dental services at the prices I had contracted for with DentalSave.

DentalSave did not respond to my email of December ** so I sent a follow up email on January *, 2015. When DentalSave did not respond to this email either, I send a fax on February *, 2015.

Despite two emails and a fax, DentalSave has never responded to my complaint.

If requested, I can provide copies of these emails and fax.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a refund of the amount I was overcharged.

In my fax to DentalSave, I also asked for a six (6) month credit to my account to compensate me for the poor customer service, aggravation and time I’ve had to spend dealing with this over the past year.
