Dentistry on Broadway

Review: I was told they would contact my insurance to get what my copay would be and signed an agreement to pay $300, then get a bill in the mail weeks later asking for additional money. They made assumptions on what my insurance would cover without actually speaking with my insurance company and then expect me to pay the balance. The front desk staff were not honest about what was covered, and I thought my bill was settled only to incur a huge out of pocket cost. I would have never agreed to the service if my insurance was actually contacted and the real price was quoted up front. I will never visit this office again.Desired Settlement: I would like a billing adjustment, the staff at denistry on broadway lied to me. My insurance informed me that they were never contacted prior to a claim be submitted to get a predetermined amount. The staff wasn't honest with me about the charge, stating it was a 150 per tooth copay through my insurance which I signed that I was agreeing to pay and was paid upon leaving the office. I have read reviews online and this office is apparently known for billing issues.

[redacted] initially came in on Wednesday 03/**/2013 as an emergency complaining of pain. Our out of network surgeon saw her on 04/**/2013. She paid $300 towards her estimated co-pay, come to find out insurance didn’t cover as much as anticipated. The account for the patient was adjusted and her responsibility was reduced to $500 per tooth. She had two wisdom teeth pulled on that visit. She is responsible for $400, which she was made aware of when she called in 09/**/2013. [redacted] was aware and signed a consent that the payment she made was just an estimate and she would be responsible for the difference that the insurance did not cover.
