first inquiry. My name is [redacted] and I am now the president at the Denver School of Nursing. I did not receive your inquiry because it was being sent to the former president who has left the organization. [redacted] was given a failing grade for her capstone course because she failed to attend 2 clinical rotations and did not notify the school that she would not be at the rotations. It is a requirement to notify the clinical office immediately when you are aware you will miss a rotation. We explained the appeal process to [redacted] and encouraged her to work through the process which she was doing when she filed her complaint to you. After careful review of all the information and taking into consideration [redacted]’s academic record she was granted her appeal. We rescinded her course failure, and accepted her makeup days which allowed her to complete the capstone course. She graduated on March 17, 2017 which was her original graduation date.
