Dependable Credit Corp Reviews (8)

I continue to try and understand the way this company does business. I made a $1,000 payment and it was applied to each month payment instead of principal to ge the car paid off. Each payment then gets hit with a intrest payment as well. Their ledger for accounts is difficult to read or understand. We live in 2018. We really should be able to have access to intrest, remaining amount and a payment off amout at any time on a fuctional website. It seems this company is not set up to help customers but to really hide behind the phones and not answer responible questions via email or calls.

Review: I made a one time payment with Dependable Credit to pay off my auto loan account Friday.(5/*/15)Saturday morning a repersentative called me and told me I had to make an addition payment of $207. I asked her why and she stated that even though they took the payment on Friday and gave me a confirmation , it will be processed on Monday and I have to pay an addition $207. She then said it was the representative who should have charged you until Monday but to me if I paid on Friday my pay off amount I should not be responsible for the additional payent.Desired Settlement: I feel like I don't owe them anything because I paid on Friday and they gave me a confirmation number.([redacted]) I not responsible for payment within their company.

Response:

This is to acknowledge your concern about the payment you made on 05/**/2015. We received a payment of $3,366.09 via our phone pay service (subject to the $5.00convenience fee, to post $3,361.09) on 05/**/2015 after our payment posting schedule for the day, thereby it will post to your account on 05/**/2015 (the next business day). This posting schedule was mentioned to you when we recorded the payment & prominently posted in our website. However, that’s not the issue with the payment. The service representative inadvertently quoted you the incorrect payoff. The principal balance of the loan before you called in your payment is $3,469.64, plus accrued interest of $73.38 and a late charge of $25.90. The payoff for your loan on 05-**-2015 (good for 05-**-2015) is $3,568.92; your payment of $3,361.09 is $207.83 short. As soon as the supervisor noticed the error, we called you immediately to inform you. The difference in theamount is not caused by the posting schedule but an agent error in calculating & colleting the payoff amount. In our efforts to correct the issue, we are willing to waive the late fee of $25.90 and phone pay fee of $5.00 when you call to complete the pay-off, therefore your principal balance remaining is $181.93. Please call our office so we can close your account with this amount, we will not add additional interest to this amount. We apologize for the inconvenience but we hope we can resolve this issue. Attached is a copy of your account card to show the payment history of the account.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The representative charged me the pay off amount on Friday, but wanted to charge me for 3 extra days which I should not be responsible for. Also I made inquiries about why so much money was going toward the interest and not the principal of the car. The representative could not give me an answer and said she would call me back and didn't. Instead when I call back I got attitude and she still couldn't answer. That's why I decided to pay the car off quickly and now they are asking me to pay another fee after the payoff amount. This is not fair and I shouldn't be responsible.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Response:

[redacted],I hope the explanation I provided you yesterday, 05/**/2015 was sufficient. I guess this complaint was re-posted before we spoke. As it appeared you understood the calculations since you settled the account this morning after we waive the late fee & the convenience fee. We apologize for the inconvenience.Very truly yours,[redacted]

Sincerely,

Review: I have had a car loan with Dependable Credit Corp for two years now and have made of my payments on time or ahead of time. In the beginning of August I called to request a statement being that im almost done paying my loan. I was told that they would send it in the mail, I never received it. I called in the beginning of september to request the statement again and was told again that it was in the mail, the address was verified to be correct but I still did not receive the statement. Within the past two days I called to request statement again and was told by John H[redacted] that it would come via email which it never did. I called back after an hour and the receptionist told me that statements cannot be sent via email, this means I was lied to by John. I left numerous voicemail's and sent emails only to be told that the statement would be sent via email by end of day yesterday. Needless to say that today I still dont have a statement. It is my legal right to have a statement of payments and interests paid but I am being denied my legal right. I cant speak to a manager because apparently the receptionist doesn't know who to transfer me to. If this persist I will take further action.Desired Settlement: All I want is a statement so that I can see where my loan stands!!!!!!

Business

Response:

We apologize for the inconvenience. Several statements were mailed to your address; unfortunately they were not received. It's our policy not to email any customer information in fear of identity theft since e-mails are not verifiable. We do this for your protection. Nevertheless, since there seems to issues with mail delivery to your address; one of the managers made an exemption and sent the information to you today via email.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.I do however recommend that customer service be made a priority at Dependable Credit Corp. No one within the company should suggest that the employee's time is in any way more valuable than the customer whom had requested a statement for over two months. Also, misleading a customer is not the most ideal action to take when distrust in Dependable Credit Corp had been explicitly expressed by the customer. Communication is key in ANY relationship especially those created by Dependable Credit Corp...or isn't that what encourage on your website. Perhaps a group training course on professionalism and properly communicating with clients would be great investment for your firm.

Sincerely,

The exact situation is happening to my son. He has been making almost double payments for three months and got web confirmation numbers. Suddenly last week he receives a call that he is behind in payments. When he asked how that is possible since he was given payment confirmation he was told the payments were made incorrectly. He has been trying to get a statement showing his payment history and they keep telling him it’s been mailed or as one unprofessional person today told him “ regardless if you have the payment history you asked for or not you need to make another payment”. That’s ridiculous. They will show him his payments or we will be going to court. This “ company” has extremely poor ratings on every site and even the Revdex.com rates them F for failing to respond to several complaints.

Review: Two months behind on my loan my car was repossed. I am a single parent trying to balance a budget and keep a roof over my head and ny childs. After the repossesion it took a day and a half to get any info from company as to what I need to do to get the issue resolved. After I finally got information within a day I went and got all information demanded from a lady named Christine who supposedly is the manager. After calling a day later with the information emailed along with paystubs, western union tracking number my car insurance info, and current employment information I was told they wouldnt do anything to help me get car out of repossesion. Everytime I called the lady was rude and unproessional. Everyday that my car stays at the repossion lot its costing me a daily storage fee which the lady christine made me very aware she didnt care and claimed that its all my fault. Still I am trying to contact them and when she gets on the phone I can hear her laughing in backround and typing on keyboard as if she put the phone down.. Its very ,very rude. I am a UNITED STATES VETERAN and it saddens me that after fighting for this great country I come home to people who have a total disreguard for others and their issues.. I asked to speak to someone higher than she and was told i'm not allowed to speak to anyone but her. Still my car is collecting daily fees of which im going to have a difficult time paying and a daughter who needs me and my vehicle. Please help me with this situation...Ive done everything asked of me and just want my car back and a complaint filed. These people are a discrace and need to lose their job.please help in this matterDesired Settlement: BILLING ADJUSTMENT, APOLOGY, REFUND, PAY FOR INCURING FEES BECAUSE OF LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM

Response:

Your vehicle was repossessed due to various reasons; non-payment; last payment received was 05/**/2015 to pay for your 04/** installment making your account past due for 05-**, 06-** and 07-** payment coming due; unable to contact you and when we did you made promises to pay which were broken; customer information were obsolete and needed updating. Thereby repossessing your vehicle was our only alternative to secure our interest. The vehicle was repossessed on 07-**-2015 at 12:35 AM by Citi Towing; on that same morning when our offices opened; we spoke to you and inform you of what was needed to redeem your vehicle; you need to make your account current by paying all delinquent payments and repossession charges; provide us with new contact information and proof of income; provide key to the repossession company so that they can prepare the vehicle for redemption; and as it turned out; you're vehicle needed new registration as the police department took the plates that were on the car due to expired registration. Moreover, the co-buyer on record needed persuading to release the vehicle to you since she will still be liable for the loan until it is completely paid-off.As of today; 07-**-2015; we received all the documents for your proof of income and the delinquent payments were received from [redacted] on 07-**-2015; the vehicle is ready for pick-up at the repossession company once you provide proof that the vehicle is registered and pay for all repossession costs directly to the repossession company. All the above information were relayed to you on a timely & professional manner. We anticipate going forward that you abide with the stipulations of our contract until the loan is fully satisfied so that you may be relieved of any inconvenience.

Review: I have an outstanding loan with this company which will be over in a few months, from the beginning this company constantly calls although you are not late with payments. It is phone calls or emails, in the past I have complained and the calls and emails were stopped. Recently in the past couple of months I noticed it started again, my due date is on the [redacted] of the month with late fee applied after the [redacted] or [redacted] of the next month. Today I received a call May [redacted] from representative named [redacted] or [redacted] saying she will be off on the [redacted] and decided to give me a call. When I called her back to inform her not to call me when I am not technically late, she was combative and rude. This company hires very unprofessional individuals who try to use deceptive tactics on consumers. When I attempted to call her back after the first call, she diverted the call to her voice mail.Desired Settlement: unless my account is 30 days past due I would like to be contacted by mail.

Business

Response:

It is our policy to place courtesy calls for accounts past the due dates; this courtesy call is to remind customers of their due date and to minimize the additional late charge incurred after the grace period.Your monthly payments are due on the [redacted] of every month; although we give you 10 days grace period, your account was past due. However, since you did not appreciate the courtesy call; we will contact you by mail going forward. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Review: In September of 2014, we missed our first payment of our loan (we've had the loan for over a year), due to financial difficulty. We had no intention of skipping out on the loan. We have every intention of paying it. With no warning, not so much as a letter was sent to us. Our car was repossessed with no warning. My wife was not able to obtain even the car seats out of the car. We called Dependable Credit to fix the situation as fast as possible, to keep costs of towing and storage down. My wife and I were both told to bring the account current and we would get the car back. So 2 days later, we brought the account current. They confirmed they received the payment and that our account is in fact current until November [redacted], 2014, and still no phone call as to where the car is, if we can at least obtain out belongings out of it, or if they are even giving the car back. We were told by "[redacted]" that we needed to speak with [redacted] regarding our account, and no phone call, no nothing. They yell and hang up on you. They have no problem taking your money and calling you back regarding that, but when a low income family needs the car that they have to live life, and do simple things with two kids and a close to disabled wife, they will do everything in their power to not speak to you. We have yet to receive a call back from [redacted]. We also reached out to [redacted] and [redacted] of the company), and not so much as a response from them either. We are now going on over a week of attempted to reach this so-called [redacted], and have yet to hear anything. It is theft to hold our property, and our account is now current. We expect the car back, NOW. We want to be told where the car is, what the fees are to obtain the car back.Desired Settlement: We expect our car back. We made our account current, as told to do (we received confirmation from Dependable Credit and our bank that they received the money) and will continue to make the desired payments every month. We want to be called back by "[redacted]" and told where the car is, what the appropriate fees are relating to the tow and storage.
