The customer that filed the complaint is an existing customer. We have done satisfactory work for them in the past. An original estimate was drawn up on July 28, 2015 (please refer to scan 1 , 1a). We waited to hear back from the customer. A signed contract detailing what was to be done was signed...

on Sept. 8, 2015 (please refer to scan 2, 2a). Please note that the bathroom was last on the list. We started the day the contract was signed (please refer to time card 1, 2) working 9/8; 9/9; 9/10; 9/14; 9/15; 9/16; 9/17. We finished all work on signed contract except bathroom. The customer had chosen to gut bathroom himself to save cost. The customer would not allow us to continue work at property while he was gutting bathroom. We went on to another job and told this customer that there may be a possibility of a wait. The customer then contacted us and he was told that we needed to finish the other job and he was next on the list and that we would get to him as soon as possible. The holidays and the other job prevented us from getting to him before he filed the complaint with the Revdex.com.. Our goal was to please the customer. We worked from 12/28/2015 to 1/13/2016 (please refer to time card 3,4,5,6,7) until the monies were exhausted, despite other issues involving job detail, cost, and materials that will be addressed in the next paragraph. To address the materials issue (items at Lowes that were never picked up) the customer himself decided to go to a different vendor other than Lowes for materials that were quoted in the original contract. The materials were at a higher cost at the other vendor. While working the job from 12/28/15 to 1/13/16 we were asked to do more than that detailed in the original contract (which will be listed below). We completed all work that was asked again in attempts to please the customer. When the customer had exhausted all monies paid, he was asked to sign a "time and materials" contract (please refer to contract 1) but the customer refused. The customer still has an unpaid balance on his bill. The projects that were asked of us outside of the original contract are as follows:We were originally to install 1 four gang GFCI outlet, what we did was rewired fan, light receptacle and light switches. In order to install the new ceiling properly we had to re-frame and shim the ceiling of the bathroom because it was out of level. In order to install the wall behind the vanity properly the frame work needed straightened and squared up.We wired and installed a heater in the whirlpool tub.We installed a medicine cabinet, then customer decided he wanted that medicine cabinet recessed instead. However the medicine cabinet was not built to be recessed and the wall was not built to handle a recessed cabinet. We had to come up with a plan or make shift for lack of a better word in order to make the cabinet fit into the wall.We repaired a window seal that was not in original contract. There was additional thin set required in order to level the floor. We installed a shampoo niche to the shower, the niche was not designed to be used with a two and half inch wall, so again we had to come up with a custom plan.We also installed a custom soap dish.We installed towel bar.Sincerely,DLS Construction[redacted] All references are attached to this email.

Review: We hired this contracting business, for some home repairs. Don't not return phone calls, this company was supposed to be at our residence working starting November 30, 2015. Have yet to show up, although when my husband called to tell them we had a check he made it a point to come pick that up. We have called several times either voice mail with no return calls or when we do finally speak to someone it's ..oh we will be out next week, week after week. This company has been paid for services and we have no bathroom, nothing. I have had it with this company. I would not recommend this company to anyone almost a month waiting to start my bathroom, no call back half the time and excuse after excuse as to when they will start and never show up when they say they will be there. They are far from dependable. I have all of the bathroom items sitting at my house waiting to be put in, items still at lowes that the contractor was to pick up never did. Everything is paid for and all I have is a gutted bathroom. They do not return calls, and never show up.Desired Settlement: Show up finish the job that you were paid for, perhaps return your customers phone calls.
