Dependable Paving

First, let it be known that I belong to organizations in my Village of SkaneatelesThere is no way that I would recommend this company, now, to any of my friends and neighborsThis company's representative quoted a price to do the apron of my driveway saying that when they returned they would do the workGary (his name) shook my handOn the day they returned I took the day off from workHis crew ignored meCalls to this company have been futileThey have refused to return my many telephone calls and, apparently, have no intention of doing the work he promisedThis is a big company but if I can prevent my friends and associates from engaging this company's services I will use whatever influence I have to do so

Re-rolling the driveway after a year will do more harm than goodAsphalt must be compacted while it is hotThis asphalt was laid during a heavy downpour which either degraded the emulsion or cooled the asphalt too fast, or bothThere are areas that are coming loose that have not been driven on and you are able to move asphalt with the heel of your shoeYou can look at parking lots and driveways all over Central New York that have been paved since this driveway and they show no marksNo one is driving any differently on this one than any otherAt this point we will probably hire a reputable paving company to re-pave this drivewayThere is no circumstance under which we would ever let Dependable on our property for any reasonWe have no trust in him or his company

Dear [redacted]I have received a phone call last month from Mrs . [redacted] concerning the driveway that we sealcoated for her on May 16th2016. She was upset that in the top of the driveway the asphalt was coming apart . She told me that...

the paving company was at fault and would I take a look at it in the next time I was up in the area. I had told her that when a driveway is sealed for the first time it is prone to tire/power steering scuffs if who ever drives in that turn around area is not careful . Prior to sealing this driveway in mid May, she told me that new tennants were going to move in the next few weeks . We always tell our customers to use caution when temps- rise above 90 degrees!When I first looked this driveway it had two pair of tires cuffs in the upper left section of the driveway. When I looked at it in the begining of this month there were dozens of scuff marks. It is my opinion that Mrs . [redacted] tennants are to blame for these scuff marks. The driveway looked to be in excellent condition before it was coated on May 16th 2016!I felt bad that her tennants either with a moving truck ,truck or car did this to the driveway . I had told her after she called when it first scuffed that Armourseal would RESEAl for free no charge either at the close of this season or the beginning of 2017 sealing season that we would coat her driveway again! She has been a loyal customer of ours for over 20 years!Mark W[redacted]

Hello [redacted]We received a call on May 25 2016 from [redacted] located at [redacted] Syracuse, NY. She stated that her driveway was falling apart. I was standing on her driveway within two hours. I observed two pairs of power steering scuffs by her garage doors. Parked in the turnaround of her driveway was a pick up truck loaded with bags of mulch. It was late in the afternoon of a very hot sunny day and the power steering scuffs matched the size of the tires of the truck. When the owners came out of the house that they were remodeling, evidenced by woodworking going on in the garage, I educated them on how to avoid making more power steering scuffs. They denied turning around in the driveway and we're convinced that the round circular marks were caused by faulty work. I reminded them of the terms and conditions on our contractual agreement which stated power steering scuffs will appear on hot asphalt if car wheels are turned without moving the vehicle. I also mentioned that this year has been very dry and extremely sunny, coinciding with the longest days of the year. Additionally this part of the driveway is in the sun the entire day, gathering heat. The remainder of the driveway was in excellent condition, and recently sealed. I recommended passing on the information to the new tenants who were going to move in over the memorial weekend. The owners continued to deny causing the marks and were steadfast in their opinion that poor quality workmanship caused the problem. Several days later they called the office demanding a full refund. Over the holiday weekend the new tenants moved in on the hottest days of the year at that point.The included picture shows the entire driveway. Notice that the driveway is fine until the turnaround. Zoom in at the turnaround and all of the power steering scuffs appear. This picture was taken after the new tenants moved in. I was disappointed that the owners had disregarded my professional advice.I called the company that sealed the driveway to seek their professional input. Included is a letter written by [redacted], the owner of [redacted]This type of surface damage can easily be avoided. All we need is people willing to listen. Once the [redacted] demanded a refund, their attitude became rude and condescending. Reasoning with them became impossible. I was going to offer to return with a 10 ton roller to reroll the turnaround area. The roller would however, whiten out the recently sealed blackness of the driveway. Armorseal offered to reseal the driveway at no charge.Dependable Paving will dispatch a truck, trailer, and roller with employees to repair the customer caused problems at no charge to the customer. When the driveway is resealed most of the cosmetic damage will disappear. It should be noted that continued cranking of tires without vehicle movement will cause more power steering scuffs this year and additionally, for the next several years. We will return one time. Also, sharp objects such as ladders, lawn furniture, motorcycle kickstands, grills, chairs, etc. will leave indentations in hot asphalt and should be avoided.Thanks for your time.[redacted]

we have not received a response from the contractor that installed the driveway. The response was from the company that applied sealer this Spring. Dependable Paving has not responding with an answer as to how they plan to address the issues described in the original complaint.
