And, most importantly, it was done on time and on budgetThe first contractor I hired was absolutely inept (a local Chandler guy, so be careful)! He took months on a two week job and didn't finish! I had to hire Derek to finish that guy's messAnd was it everBut, Derek fixed it all and was very conscientiousIf only I'd hired him from the beginningJust remember that you get what you pay forI have lived and learned He can do it allHe even brought along his wife to make sure all the details were tended toAnd they cleaned their mess before they leftAmazing! I highly recommend Derek's Handy ServiceHe completed a big remodel on my Tyler homeNew kitchen cabinets, counter tops, subway tile on the walls from floor to ceiling, moved my laundry from the kitchen to the hall closet, took down a closet wall and added a shower to the master bathroom, fixed old damage to my ceiling, put tile in the master bathroom and an outside office and so much moreHe was always there with a "YES" when I added something else to the list of things I wanted to get doneHis crew were polite and professionalThe price quoted was below market and we had cost over runs, but some of this was from me adding projectsIn the end the total cost was still at least 30% below what it would have cost me with other estimates I had receivedI would hire this company againThanks again Derek for my beautiful home
Job was completed on 12-30-after daysIn mid Feb I noticed some water stainsIn late Feb we got storms, high winds, plus inches of rain and I noticed my den ceiling extremely wet and lowering down on 3-14-Called Derek to complain and was told he was out of town and would be a few days before he'd be backIn the meantime my water soaked ceiling pretty much all fell down on everything in my 12Xroom getting lots of other damage & mess exposing my roof boards water logged, moldy and not nailed properly
On 3-16-contractor Derek showed up to review the carnage and said he didn't believe the water damage could do all of this - see photos- and was going to send out his drywall expert *** from *** to get a experienced opinionThe man came out and said it was all totally from water damage and was hired to do the sheet rock on ceiling and did a good jobIn the meantime, Derek did a cheap, quick fix type of patch, using caulk, foam and some shingles
