Dermacort Skin Reviews (%countItem)

Deceptive advertising and unauthorized repeated billing without any contract or agreement. This is a crooked company. There were no terms to be read.
On 7/9/19, l was on the computer when the unsolicited advertising for Dermacort anti-aging cream popped up and l read that this "miracle" cream was being offered for free, just pay $5.95 for shipping. l thought it sounded good and before l signed off l found myself with an added Dermacort eye lift serum for $4.95 although l had pressed the "no" button. The package arrived quickly, and as of November 30, 2019 l have not opened them yet. Unfortunately for me, l was ill through the summer and staying mostly up north in Michigan away from home so l did not check my credit card statements. My son took care of my bills. It is just last week that l found this new package from Dermacort containing the eye lift serum. I knew l had not placed any other orders from Dermacort, 2200 NW 72nd Ave, #XXXXX, Miami FL XXXXX. The half slip included listed order#XXXXXX and order date was 9/18/19. Customer care #XXX-XXX-XXXX. At this point l looked at my credit card statements and to my great surprise l found that on 7/9/19 l had been billed $5.95 and $4.95 for order#XXXXXX placed on 7/9/19. This was the only order l had placed. Then l found two charges dated 7/26/19 for Dermacort eye serum $88.99 and Dermacort skin cream $89.99. l did not receive these two products so l am only guessing they billed me for the two original products advertised as free on 7/9/19. This is illegal and this company needs to be busted! There is more. l just received another Dermacort eye lift serum, order #XXXXXX, order date 11/15/19, and my card was charged $88.99. All the transactions on my credit card are listed as "MUFADA" eye serum or skin cream, XXXXXXXXXX, DE. I will call my credit card company tomorrow morning because l have not authorized these transactions nor agreed to any auto-shipping. Also, their prices are outrageous. One can get these two products for a total price of $69.00. I want a full refund of $88.99 and $89.99 for the two falsely advertised "free" products, and l will return the two unopened eye serums for a refund, also. I am a senior citizen and would never pay those prices for such products. Please report these crooks to the proper authorities.

Desired Outcome

As l explained, l just found out about these charges. I will call this company tomorrow as well as my credit card company. I will request a full refund, stop them from sending anymore items and return the two eye serums l did not order!

Dear Ms.,

We recently received your complaint #XXXXXXXX regarding your Dermacort account. We take complaints very seriously and we hope this response will provide you with additional information. According to our records, we received your order July 9th 2019.

The terms of the offer that you agreed to at the time of your order clearly state that you were to have a 14 day trial period starting from the date that the order was placed, in which you could cancel your account to avoid further charges. They also indicate that "you must take affirmative action to avoid further charges or you will be charged in the amount of $89.99 for the Dermacort Skin Cream and $88.99 for the Dermacort Eye Serum fourteen days from the date that the order was placed for the product(s)." These terms were presented to you in multiple places on our website when you ordered our product.

When you ordered the product you also clicked a button indicating that you agreed to the terms of the offer. When a customer clicks that button, we must assume that they have read what they are agreeing to. If there was any confusion with the terms you could have called our customer service team and they would have been happy to assist you.

Since we did not hear from you during your trial period, you were charged $89.99 For the Dermacort Skin Cream and $88.99 for the Dermacort Eye Serum on July 26th. This then had you in our convenient auto ship program where you would receive the products at that price every 30 days.
You were not billed again until September 18th for the second shipment of the Eye Serum and a third shipment of eye serum on November the 15th. As we never had a successful billing for the face cream on any other day.
According to our records the first contact we had requesting the cancellation of your account was on December 2nd, 2019 at that point you informed our agent you had filed a dispute with your financial institution. When this happens, we are no longer able to assist any further on the account. The financial institution would be investigating to see the legitimacy of the program and billing that is clearly stated on our website. We do provide them with all the necessary documentation that is collected at the time a consumer places an order.
As a courtesy, the representative provided you with a 100% refund on your most recent charge on November 15th of $88.99. Please allow 3-5 business days to reflect into your account.
Your account remains canceled and you will not receive any further shipments or charges. I hope this resolves your concern today and I hope you have a good day!

Sincerely,
Complaints Specialist

RE: Complaint #XXXXXXXX against Dermacort Skin Care.
I am not satisfied about this company's reply. They are claiming that their Terms and Conditions page "clearly states" that I had 14 day trial period and if l did not reply, they would charge me full-price and enroll me on an auto ship program. I would like to insist that l never read those terms, l feel l was rushed during the ordering process and this company has been reported for the same modus operandi by too many people. They have a T and C page they have hidden from public view at order time. They purposely rush you and the information is flashed so fast, you don't even have a chance to review your purchase and transaction details. If, as they state, l clicked on the terms button, l was simply agreeing to the "Free " skin cream offer. I would like to alert Revdex.com and unsuspecting older women scammed like me, that there is an article on line published by "Support the Guardian " in the "MONEY" section written by a journalist In the UK, Miles Brignall, that reads as follows: "The offer of a "FREE " face cream trial can cost £70 a month, prompting the biggest post bag of complaints "MONEY " has ever received." It is dated 2/17/12. A lot of complaints reported that this company uses a "Terms and Conditions " page hidden from public view during the ordering process, and when women realize they were scammed, Dermacort or whatever name they are using at the time, forwards a "false Terms and Conditions page" to Revdex.com or the credit card companies investigating the complaints. Even if what Dermacort is saying is true, how come this company never gives the customer a membership number and most of all, they do not send any emails to alert the duped customer that a new order is being shipped, your bank is being billed, a tracking number, which every legit and reputable company does??!!!! They only sent an email or confirmation for the first order of $5.99 and $4.99 dated 7/9/19, no other alert for 9/18/19 nor 11/15/19. This company is too sneaky and shady, and people should file a class action lawsuit to stop their scams.
I am still requesting a full refund of $88.99, 89.99, 88.99 and again 88.99. I am so disappointed and disgusted that l don't even want to try their products, they are intact and l would like to return them. This is what l am agreeing to. Thank you.

Dermacort Skin Response • Dec 31, 2019

Dear ***,

Thank you for contacting the Revdex.com; they have forwarded your correspondence to us. We are very sorry for any confusion caused, and we would like to offer you an unconditional refund for your troubles. To confirm, we processed refunds for all the charges you are referring to as follows:

Jul. 26, $89.99 - refunded in full Dec. 26, 2019

Jul. 26, $88.99 - refunded in full Dec. 26, 2019

Nov. 15, $88.99 - refunded in full Dec. 06, 2019 (we refunded it right before receiving chargeback documentation that you filed with your bank)

In regards to the $88.99 charge on September 18, the Chargeback dispute was processed on this charge on December 06. It is supposed to be credited to you by your financial institution when the dispute is over, so please contact your card provider if they have still not credited this amount (and of course, please reach out to me directly if you have any further problems).

It is unfortunate that you did not read our Terms and Conditions when you made your initial purchase; we are a reputable organization and we take our customer service and legal commitments seriously. Unfortunately, we did not learn of your issues until December 2 (your order was originally placed July 9 and we did not hear from you until December 5, which is 5 months later, and had you contacted us we would have provided you with an immediate refund, as we are doing now).

Our contact information is widely available (when ordering, in the e-mail confirmation, in the shipment dispatch notices and in your bank statements). Customers usually contact us for any questions or concerns and get them resolved 24/7.

I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to resolve your concerns earlier. If you had contacted us in a timely fashion we would have addressed them quickly and efficiently.

Sincerely,
Alex

RE: Complaint ID#XXXXXXXX against Dermacort Skin.
I would like to thank Revdex.com for its help on this matter. I also appreciate Dermacort Skin reconsideration in refunding me for the amount of the three charges, and my financial institution is working on the fourth refund of $88.99 for the September 18, 2019 delivery of the Dermacort eye serum. Unfortunately, the fact that l was away for a couple of months did not help, but if Dermacort Skin had emailed me with confirmation and transactions details, l would have discovered this mess sooner. Well, never too late to learn! In all fairness, l will be returning all the products (5) to Dermacort Skin, and l hope they can verify they are still intact. Thank you anyway.

As another reviewer stated I bought the face lotion and eye serum during a promo trial. I read carefully to make sure that I didn't see anything to indicate I would receive further shipments, yet a week after I received the product I was charged $178.98. I called the company and after a VERY unpleasant experience was told that my order would be cancelled, as the charge had only just showed up on my card. The operator then promptly disconnected me and I have still not seen a reversal of the charges to my bank account.

Online deceptive advertising using the celebrity images & comments of Sandra Bullock, Eva Longoria. Call & pressure me to click on other trail offers.
I was on a nutrition site and the solicitation for their skin cream add came up. It starts by boasting "Dermacort" got 25% investment from all the sharks on Shark Tank. Shows their product pitch & the Sharks In a champagne toast. It has an article about Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show praising Dermacort. They used celebrity endorsements from Sandra Bullock, Oprah Winfrey, Eva Longoria & more. It showed many customer before & after pictures, but when I researched after my free trail purchase was complete, I saw the same Celebrity endorsements & the same customer before & after pictures used with other skin care products online. While completing my purchase, a pop up for a free trail of eye serum wouldn't stop no matter how many times I clicked "no thank you", but somehow I got out of that after 20+ no thank you clicks. After I finished my online check out & while I was printing a copy of my invoice, a customer service representative called me from Atlanta very angry, insisting I purchase the free trail of eye serum. I told her I refused the offer online several times, I didn't want it. She tried to pressure me into buying it over the phone because she said both products must come together as free trail package. I said I didn't want it, and she said " well good luck getting your order" & hung up on me. I started to sense even more dread with my purchase, then the NBC World News came on with a story about online skin care products advertising using deceptive celebrity endorsements without their permission. The same "Dermacort" celebrities pictures & endorsements I saw online along with the same customer before & after pictures were on the news but advertising a different skin care product. The reporter said the companies change the product name so fast, it's a scam & if you have been victim to this deceptive advertising contact the Revdex.com. I also called & cancelled my free trial & made sure the customer representative took me off any subscription I never agreed to. I explained about the rude phone call pressuring me to buy the eye serum & she was very nice & apologized for that. When I told her about them being on the news for deceptive advertising using celebrity endorsements without their permission & that I was going to contact the Revdex.com, she gave me my return confirmation number. I told her I check my credit card charges daily & it better not show any more charges since I just canceled the day after I ordered. I told her the confirmation number for the cancellation & refund is the same as my order number. She said it's also my refund & cancellation number & hung up the phone on me. I will check in 2-3 business days for my refund & check again in 10 days for any more charges on my credit card. If I actually do get the refund, I'll put a stop on this merchant with my credit card company.

Desired Outcome

Contact business to stop deceptive advertising using celebrity endorsements without their permission, stop false advertising using same customer before & after pictures & positive comments with other skin care products on their other websites. Stop pressure tactics online to repeatedly ask customer to click on more free trails after customer clicks " no thank you". Customers can opt " no" but they make it nearly impossible for frustrated customers to move forward from that pop up window & continue with their main purchase. Insist invoice & email confirmation show form of payment information like all legitimate retailers do. Stop calling customers after they declined more products offered online, trying to pressure over the phone purchases & threatening customers that they have to buy more or they won't get what they ordered online. Elderly people are easy targets with theses types of phone tactics.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The company did cancel my order and refund my money, but the real disturbing issue missing in their response is their lack accountability for their deceptive advertising practices. If they continue to use false claims of celebrity images endorsing their products, they are cheating all unknowing and good faith consumers. Until they give me an explanation and stop false advertisement, I will not be satisfied. Consumers must continue filling complaints to keep deceptive advertising out in the open and warn the public. Simply canceling my order and continuing to device more unsuspecting customers doesn't show good business trustworthiness or accountability.

Dermacort Skin Response • Dec 19, 2019

Dear Ms.
we do appreciate you bringing this to our attention and have forwarded this to the appropriate department. We do use a third party company for advertising and we will make sure they are made aware of this and take the appropriate actions on gaining consent when publishing marketing tools.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
NBC Nightly News did a story on XX-XX-XX about deceptive business advertising using celebrity images and endorsements. They showed the advertisement. This business used the same images to convince me to buy their product. This is the reason I immediately canceled my order and filed my complaint. If the news made it public over a month ago and this business is only just now taking appropriate action because I keep insisting, I will have to keep this complaint open. Hiring third party advertising doesn't take away your accountability. Someone in your company approved this advertising campaign, you are aware of it. It's still ongoing deceptive business practices.

This product does not work... They reel you in by giving a trial BUYERS BEWARE!!!! They give you the "free" trial. But don't tell you they are sending you another bottle the following month and charge you 88.99 for skin care and 89.99 for eye care and WILL NOT refund the full amount even if you send it back unopened... My credit card was charged 178.98 and best they will do is 50% I'm stuck with product I can't use the eye cream burns my eyes... Thanks but No thank.... DON'T use ... should be a Zero star.

I ordered a skin cream duo from an online ad. I understood that I would receive a sample of their skin care products for a very nominal cost.
I ordered what I thought was a cosmetic sample from Dermocort,2200NW 72nd Avenue, #XXXXX, XXXXX, Miami, Florida. The cost was supposed to be about ten dollars. Instead, I was charged $89.99 and $88.99 on my Visa credit card for a very small jar (one ounce) face cream and a small eye serum. I called the company at XXX XXX XXXX but they were not very helpful. I then called State Farm Visa at XXX XXX XXXX and they contacted Dermocort

Desired Outcome

I want the charge reversed or a refund.

Dear Ms.,

We recently received your complaint #XXXXXXXX regarding your Dermacort account. We take complaints very seriously and we hope this response will provide you with additional information. According to our records, we received your order on August 13th 2019 .

The terms of the offer that you agreed to at the time of your order clearly state that you were to have a 14 day trial period starting from the date that the order was placed, in which you could cancel your account to avoid further charges. They also indicate that "you must take affirmative action to avoid further charges or you will be charged in the amount of $89.99 for the Dermacort Skin and $88.99 for the Dermacort Eye fourteen days from the date that the order was placed for the product(s)." These terms were presented to you in multiple places on our website when you ordered our product.

When you ordered the product you also clicked a button indicating that you agreed to the terms of the offer. When a customer clicks that button, we must assume that they have actually read what they are agreeing to. If there was any confusion with the terms you could have called our customer service team and they would have been happy to assist you.
Since we did not hear from you during your trial period, you were charged $89.99 and $88.99 on August 30th for the Dermacort Skin and the Dermacort Eye. This was also an auto subscription since it was not cancelled you then were charged $89.99 and $88.99 September 29th for your second shipment.
According to our records the first contact we had requesting the cancellation of your account was on October 5th at which point you accepted a 75% lifetime discount for future orders and to stay on the auto ship program. We then received a call on October 6th the account was cancelled and there were some refunds issued for the charges done on September 29th. We then received chargeback notification from your financial institution on November 15th and we sent them all the documentation we collect when customers place orders on that same day the account was flagged in chargeback status due to your financial institution agreeing that this was a legitimate sale.
As a courtesy we have gone ahead and refund the August 30th charges of the $89.99 and the $88.99 on November 8th. Those should have reflected to your VISA ending in 1247 within 2-5 business after we issued the refunds.
Your account remains canceled and you will not receive any further shipments or charges. I hope this resolves your concern today and I hope you have a good day!

Sincerely,

Complaints Specialist

to me
Thank you for your assistance in this case. Because of your efforts, the case has been successfully resolved.

Products advertised as free if customer pays shipping. I was billed for the products, based on deceptive advertising
I responded to an unsolicited ad sent to me while I was online on 21 July 2019. The ad used Whoopie Goldberg to promote their product. I thought I was paying $5.95 shipping for a free trial of a skin cream product. Then the ad gave me a button about an eye care product. I thought I was clicking for more info about the eye product. Instead, the product was added to my order. Since it was only $4.95, I did not try to find out how to remove it from my order. I received the products promptly on 25 July. When I received my credit card stmt on 27 Aug. 2019, I had not only the shipping charges, but a charge for $88.99 for the eye cream plus $89.99 for the skin cream. I called my credit card co and opened a dispute of these charges. I then called Dermacort Co. and asked that these charges be reversed, that I did not authorize the $88.99 and the $89.99. The rep, (Brianna I think,) told me that I had 14 days from the order date, 21 July, to return the product, that it was NOT a free trial, but an agreement to sign up for the products. I said that I didn't understand this, that the ad was not clear about this and that I wanted a 100% refund. She said that if I returned the unopened products (they were both unopened and still remain unopened), she could give me a 25% refund. I told her this was unacceptable, that I wanted a 100% refund. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She put me on hold and when she came back on the line, she offered me a 50% refund. I again stated I wanted a 100% refund. She said they could only offer a 50% refund. I again asked to speak to a supervisor, but was not allowed to do so. She said the site was clear, and I had authorized these charges. I told her that it was not clear and I didn't understand there would be any additional charges beyond the shipping, and I was willing to pay the shipping. I further did not see anything about the 14 day window to return the product or the continued billing of my credit card. There was nothing in the shipment package stating any of this, only the products. I said I felt the ad was deceptive. She was very forceful about this being something I should have understood and that I was responsible for the for the charges. She asked again if I wanted to accept the 50% refund and that the site was clear. I said, no, that I wanted a 100% refund. She said they could only give a 50% refund. I told her that I had opened a dispute of the charges with my credit card co. She said that if I had already opened a dispute then it was between me and my bank. She would cancel my account and send me an email confirmation, but could not give me a refund. At some time during the conversation, I asked her what MUFADA stood for that was showing up on my credit card stmt. She said she didn't know. I asked who could tell me. she said, "Nobody." She said nobody here knows what that stands for, that's something only billing knows. She made one last attempt to get me to accept the 50% refund, I refused, and the conversation ended.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund of the $88.99 and the $89.99 for a total of $178.98. If they want the products returned, then I would request that shipping charges be refunded, also, and a return paid shipping label be provided.

According to our records the first contact we had requesting the cancellation of your account was on 08/27/2019 when you cancelled over our automated system (or) with a representative. Your account was immediately cancelled, and you have not received any shipments or charges since then.

Since the time, your account was canceled, you have contacted your credit card company and initiated a chargeback for the full charge. Because of the chargeback, we cannot issue you a credit at this time because you would then end up getting a credit twice for those purchases.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As stated in my original complaint, this advertisement was NOT clear. I believe they are targeting senior citizens. The ad should be more clear so senior citizens are able to better understand these (difficult to understand) statements. I still have the products in the original boxes/packaging and am willing to send these unopened products back, but I want a complete refund for doing so.I stand by my original complaint.

Dermacort Skin Response • Sep 17, 2019

Dear ***,

Since you have contacted your credit card company and initiated a chargeback for the full charge, we cannot issue you a credit at this time.
Once a chargeback is filed with your bank we are unable to provide any type of refund as a resolution to the account. The outcome will be between you and your bank.
I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I am sorry I am not able to help more I hope you have a great day!

Customer Response • Sep 17, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Dermacort says they cannot issue a rebate because I disputed this charge and now it is between me and my bank. It has nothing to do with my bank as stated in Dermacorts response. This disputed charge was with my credit card co. Dermacort said the best they could do was to give me a 50% refund, which I declined, stating I wanted a 100% refund. I said I had opened a dispute with my credit card co., not my bank. That is when they had said they could do nothing, but they had already said they would not give me a full refund before I even told them I had opened a dispute with the credit card co. I believe this is a predatory company, preying on senior citizens with unclear advertisements that are difficult for senior to figure out. The product is geared toward older people as it is a wrinkle cream and wrinkles primarily affect senior citizens. If they agree to issue me a full refund, I will drop the dispute complaint with my credit card co. I believe they can do this, even though they say they cannot. All they have to do is to refund the amount to my credit card.

Dermacort Skin Response • Oct 07, 2019

Dear ***,

Thank you for contacting us and sharing your concern we want you to be satisfied with the product and your experience.
We understand there may be some confusion on the order that the customer placed and how it worked. I have received approval to issue a full refund for the charges to resolve your concern.
As a courtesy you were refunded for the amounts of When attempting to issue a refund for the remaining amount, $178.98. We received an error due to the payment gateway. We have issued a manual refund for $178.98. This refund check has been sent to the email address on file; ***@yahoo.com. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to arrive at the address previously stated.
Your account remains canceled and you will not receive any further shipments or charges. I hope this resolves your concern today and I hope you have a good day!

Customer Response • Oct 07, 2019

No, I am not satisfied with their response, however, I will agree to closing this with the understanding that I do not agree with their response. I believe this is deceptive advertising that preys on senior citizens. It is not clear to a senior citizen, no matter what claim they may make. I believe I should receive a refund. I will return their product, unopened.
