Let the notes say " I paid the balance, which is from months ago, and which I had not previously
received a bill for. It would have cost me more than the $to have my account investigate thisSo, against my better judgement, I paid the bill. I had been to this office a few times since the date of the original bill. I never was told about a balance, nor was I ever sent a billing statement which reflected a balance. It is unfair, and unprofessional, to bill patients months later, and hope they will remember or do the investigation themselves. The onus is put upon the patient to defend themselves. In my case, it was easier to put the balance on a credit card and be done with the practiceThe billing contact, ***, was very cordial and professional. She did not understand how my balance could have been over looked for so long. Frankly, neither do I"
