On 9/5/2017, customer vehicle was brought to the dealership for a service concernWhen hooked up to the Ford computer system for problem diagnosis, several codes surfaced- one being a P0299, a PO300, aPOand a POSimple English, a
turbo under boost and the others defined as misfires in cylinder #There is no evidence on any of our job quote tickets for a price of *** Our writer did state that he may have inadvertently added the *** (original quote) a second time to the secondary quote of *** for a turbo replacementIt wasn't until after the repairs were made did we learn of the Ford computer system alerting us to deeper issues- ie., the need to replace the engineTo be clear, diagnosing an engine problem is not an exact scienceIn today's technology, we MUST rely on Ford's computer system in diagnosing an engine issueOften times, the real culprit of an issue is discovery by virtue of other things corrected yet a problem remainsLake Shore Ford has been in business for over years and would not survive in a small town by taking advantage of its customersAs we understand it, and in the end, Ms*** is having the engine replacedMs*** has spent a total of *** at Lake Shore to dateLake Shore was not given the opportunity to ultimately correct the problem and the customer chose to have the vehicle towed elsewhereLake Shore is willing to refund *** for all monies spent at Lake Shore Ford as customer goodwill
