was her understanding the guest was happy with the resolution at the end of this phone call.
We are not responsible for the cancellation policy of hotels.com, or any other third party booking site. While our desk clerk certainly should have attempted to match the online rate, any further contact this guest had with the third-party site, along with any service he received form them, is not under our control. The items in his complaint that actually due pertain to our service level have been handled with the staff and retraining has been completed.
