I purchased an engagement setting from [redacted] back on/about August **, 2012. 3 days later one of the small diamonds fell out and we noticed a crack in the inside of the band. We immediately returned to the store and met with [redacted] where he replaced the small diamond and filled in the faulty band as well as double checked all the other stones including the main stone. After doing that he guaranteed that the main stone (a family hierloom) would never fall out or become loose and that we shouldn't be worried at all. Two weeks later, 2 more small diamonds fell out and the main stone was loose as well as the band was noticeably changing colors. As the ring was in AZ, my fiancee took it to her local jeweler to get it fixed. Upon reviewing the ring it was said to be completely faulty and the jeweler explained that due to inconsitent workmanship and quality of products used, they were uncomfortable doing work on the ring. After further discussion, it was also explained to her that it was not the setting (pavee) we asked for and paid for. My fiancee called and spoke with [redacted] about the issues and [redacted] then called and had conversations with my fiancee's jeweler. With that, we returned the ring to [redacted] back in NY, asking for our money back as guaranteed on the D'Errico website. [redacted] wished to fix the matter and asked to give him the opportunity to redo the ring and make it right, after several days of discussions back and forth, we accepted his offer on the contingency that if we were not satisfied with the new ring, that a full refund would be given immediately. It took him longer (approximately 3 weeks longer) then promised but the new ring arrived in AZ. Upon receiving the ring, I was able to notice that the ring was a new ring and more like what we originally designed with [redacted], however we noticed several spots where it just didn't look right. We took it to the same jeweler here in AZ once again and asked their professional opinion. They showed even more flaws than what I was able to spot with my eye (pitting and scratches in the band) and additionally that due to a design issue with the crown area of the ring where the main diamond would be set, they would not be able to our diamond without causing damage and future instability to the rest of the ring. We immediately called [redacted] and shipped the ring overnight back to NY and requested a total refund of all moneys. [redacted] spoke to my fiancee's jeweler once again. [redacted] received the ring on/about December [redacted], 2012. We once again requested our money back and [redacted] agreed to refund all the money including the sales tax, shipping fees on our side (approximately $100.00), and said he would drop the restocking fee that he normally assesses due to the circumstances. On multiple times my fiancee and I contacted [redacted] requesting the money and was given the response that it was on it's way or that he was working things out with his part-time booking person and to hold tight giving us many dates that have come and gone without refund. I have personally contacted him and gave my card number to return the money and still has yet to return it. I contacted him multiple times asking for the refund which he guaranteed it yet, it was never proccesed. After many calls on/about February [redacted], I once again gave [redacted] my card number and he guaranteed me that it would be processed on 2/** and show in my account on 2/**. He has failed to refund my money. He has my money and his product since December, and has stated numerous times verbally and through text messages that the money will be refunded. My fiancee and I have been engaged for approximately 7 months and have only been able to have a ring for a few weeks total. This experience has caused a lot of stress and heartache, and we have shown great understanding and patience waiting for our refund from [redacted], which we now feel that he is taking advantage.
