Mr. [redacted] and us have been in contact and the email chain attached document is attached. Derryberry Concrete Designs does acknowledge damage to the coil stock flashing on the right side of the garage. As stated in the email, we did reach out to 2 companies we use for siding services. The coil stock...

flashing on the right side of the garage was scheduled to be replaced on Monday, June 27, 2016. The cost of this was quoted for $250.00. As stated in the written contract from the contractor Mr. [redacted] hired, the white flashing was replaced around the complete garage door. The gasket seals and coil stock flashing above the garage door and to the left side where not damaged by Derryberry Concrete. The additional material and work reflect the difference in the work to be performed. We take responsibility for the damage to the right side of the garage door and as stated, arranged to have the work performed. There is also a mention of damage to the garage door paint due to power washing. As stated in our contract, we are not responsible for fading and/or deterioration due to pressure washing. However, Derryberry Concrete Designs did ask Mr. [redacted] to assist him in the color of the garage door, as he is color blind, with the intension of painting the garage door. This is reflected in the email chain attachment. Mr. [redacted] did not contact us, nor respond to our last email. He then decided to paint the door himself and hired a contractor to complete the siding work, The mention of monies being fronted makes no sense. Contracted services are paid for during completion. Mr. Eber's did still owe a balance of $100.00. We are willing to pay the difference in the amount from what was still owed and the work to the right side of the flashing. This equals Derryberry Concrete Designs reimbursing Mr. [redacted] a $150.00 amount. The additional amount was chosen to be completed by Mr. [redacted] and we did not cause damage to those areas. Derryberry Concrete Designs also patched several cracks inside his garage floor at no additional cost, as he asked. He was happy with our services until we received notice on this past Wednesday. Very truly yours,Steve Derryberry

Mr. [redacted] statement about the garage floor is completely inaccurate and a false statement. The cracks, many of them, where not caused by our company. Not 1 crack! WE did a concrete overlay on his front porch, which he failed to mention. He asked me if I could seal some of the many cracks in his garage floor with the products. WE spent a few hours extra doing so and I would ask for any structural engineer to look at the cracks to identify that they are old existing cracks. This was not part of the scope of work. This same problem has occurred before on another job, regarding the coil stock flashing around the garage. It is made of 3 sides. A left side, top, and a right. The right side may be removed, replaced and re-caulked. The seal is a separate part and does not need to even be replaced. The cost for hiring 1 of the 2 companies, which I informed him we would take responsibility, is $250-$300. $250 for white and $300 for a colored coil stock flashing. Derryberry Concrete Designs has always fixed, or replaced any damage caused by us. This is due to a lack of communication and patience. We have already asked the other customer to back us up on this situation, and they agreed to without hesitation. Mr. [redacted] had not responded to my email, in which an attachment was already provideed.  Derryberry Concrete Designs will not pay for the difference to replace the flashing around the whole garage door. We always go above and beyond for our customer's, but will not allow our named to be slandered about inaccurate statements. We stand by our original offer to pay the difference of what the actual work cost, not replacing the whole garage new. If we had been informed of what he was planning on doing, we would have met him, no problem to discuss the scope of work.

Derryberry Concrete Designs has paid all vendors, with the ready mix company being the only vendor of ours not paid for this job... due net 30 days from invoice. Payment is said to be made and concrete company and us have been in contact. Derryberry Concrete Designs will provide a full lien waiver...

for the customer. This is a misunderstanding between the ready mix company  and Derryberry Concrete Designs. This is our priority and we are diligently working on the matter.

I am rejecting this response because: the issue is not resolved nor is there a defined plan or time line from Derryberry to do so.

Derryberry Concrete Designs would like to offer to treat this crack that Mr. [redacted] is speaking of in this complaint. We have attached a copy of our contract, which states a 1 year warranty period. However, our customer's are always encouraged to contact us with any problems or concerns. We were...

contacted by him late last summer. An appointment was set to have 1 of our laborers look at the crack and treat it as needed, free of charge of course. The employee did not have enough time, daylight, left to go and complete the task properly. Mr. [redacted] was contacted and informed that we would need to reschedule due to the situation. We offered to reschedule at that time and he stated he would have to get back to us, he was busy. We have not heard from him since. However, we would be more than willing to come out there and treat this crack. It may also be noted, the extra drive lane we installed was to accommodate a boat. We personally watched the customer drive through the yard and onto the drive lane from the side. Not from the entrance/exit of the drive lane. This is a very good possibility in why it cracked where it has occurred. As mentioned, our mission is to ensure our customer's receive the best service with the utmost quality craftsmanship and durable products. We will reach out to Mr. [redacted] tomorrow to try and schedule a date and time to come treat this crack. We want our customer's to have the best experience possible. This customer actually contacted us last year to have other work performed at his home. He was a loyal, appreciative customer that referred a customer to us, which we did work for as well, and were very pleased with the service. They bragged about us around town. We hope we can return the favor by simply treating this crack. And, of course, free of charge ASAP!Very truly yours,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
[redacted] he did not call me until today at 1:52 pm . he said he would be coming out on 5/3/16. I will let you know what happens. Thus far I am not satisfied.

That is not true, we reached out to them by phone 4 times on 4/15 and they didn’t answer. I left them a message. We did not hear back from them. I did contact him again and he did answer and we are going out to address this issue and fix this crack for him next week.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:As [redacted] acknowledged, Derryberry Concrete Designs damaged the bottom right hand side of the metal wrap around on the garage. When [redacted] came back and did the cleanup power washing to prepare for the sealing application, he power washed paint off the left hand side of the metal wrap around the garage. He also power washed paint off a portion of the garage door. Contrary to [redacted]’s assertion, I have been attempting to contact him. See attached email thread. Given that [redacted] would not respond, I had two different companies come and look at the damage to the garage and the metal wrap around the garage. Both companies said because the metal wrap is over 30 years old, it was not possible to only replace one side of metal wrap as it would not match. With this information, and because [redacted] refused to return my email or phone call, I decided to proceed with the replacement of the metal wrap around the garage. Also because [redacted] would not communicate with me, I decided to repaint the garage door myself on the advice received from the two companies who looked at the damage to the metal wrap around the garage. This effort is outlined here. On the first day, scrubbed the garage door by hand and rinsed off. This took one hour. The next morning, I painted the garage door with two coats of paint, which took three hours. So, the repainting of the garage door took me four hours to complete, plus the costs of the paint and brush. [redacted] told me on at least two separate occasions that he would have the metal wrap around the garage replaced and help with the painting of the garage door. When I asked him when this would happen, I received no response from him. [redacted] states that he contracted with someone to have the metal wrap around the garage replaced on Monday, June 27, which was news to me. Note that I left a voice message for [redacted] on May 17, in response to his May 12 email. When I received no response to my voice message, I sent him an email on May 23. Again, no response. That is when I made a formal demand to [redacted] in an email of June 22. When I received no response to that request, I made the Revdex.com complaint on the evening of Thursday, June 23. I never once received information from [redacted] that he had arranged to have the metal wrap replaced. Further, I would never have someone do work on my home without a meeting with the company to discuss what would be done. Based on the two companies that came and looked at the metal wrap around the garage, I would be very surprised if another company had a different answer in doing this job. I would have welcomed a consultation from a company that [redacted] spoke with, however, this never happened. As far as the crack in the garage floor goes, this damage was caused by Derryberry Concrete when they originally took out the existing driveway. I asked [redacted] that if he had any concrete leftover, would he be able to wipe some leftover concrete on the cracks and he said yes and that if he had leftover, it would be no charge. So, the bottom line for me is very simple. If I wanted the damage caused by Derryberry Concrete to be fixed, and to be fixed correctly, I had to take care of this myself and then have Derryberry Concrete pay me for the work done minus the $100 left from the original contracted price. The contract price was significant - $11,947.94, - and I would hope that for $411.70, [redacted] would not wish his reputation to be tarnished.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
