DeSales University

Review: I enrolled at DeSales University in the summer/fall of 2012 for 2 classes (6 credits/1 class per session). I had enrolled again for 2 classes in the winter/spring of 2013. In February I felt that I was struggling in a class due to personal issues I had going on at the time. I had talked to my advisor, [redacted], who informed me that if I withdrew from the class I would avoid getting a poor grade and would still get a partial refund because it had only been not even halfway through the class. I believe he was in his best intentions trying to help me out. Come March, I continued to get bills saying I had balance due from that class. I had called into the financial aid office and was informed that because I had withdrew from that class, I no longer would receive financial aid. I contacted [redacted], and all he informed me to do was contact financial aid again to see if there was something they could do, such as sign me up for another summer course. So I called back and was told there was nothing they could do and even if I enrolled in a summer class, it would be considered a separate semester and would still not qualify me. I was advised at this point I was responsible for payment. I asked about dropping the second class and was informed I was still responsible for partial payment on that class also. So overall, I was advised to withdraw from a class and now I'm stuck with an $1100.00 bill and the university is unwilling to work out payment arrangements while I'm attending. I was told be the treasurers office, that until I satisfy this balance, I cannot take classes! I do not even know where to begin with how upset I'am at this entire situation!Desired Settlement: I wish to be credited back the charges I've acquired ($1100.00) because of what I was advised to do. I do not understand how I'm advised to withdraw from a class by a DeSales adviser and now end up being banned from the university until I pay off this balance?? This is absolutely not only ridiculous, but unethical.
