Review: The purpose of this complaint is to bring to your attention a roofing contractor's substandard work on my barn roof. The roof, installed in October 2003, has been leaking for over 3 years. After repeated failed attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] via telephone, I confronted him on a job site. He did come to my home, looked at the roof, and stated that he has "never seen this in his 30 years of roofing." He said he would return the next day when it was raining, in order to witness the leakage firsthand. He did not do this. I have continued to attempt to contact him via telephone, to no avail. I sent him a certified letter, which was returned to me by the Post Office after 3 attempts for his signature. I had a GAF Master Elite Installer inspect my roof, who found that the tar paper was not installed, as required by my contract with Mr. [redacted]; and the GAF Architect shingles were installed improperly. The roof continues to leak in several areas and has now damaged the under roofing.

Desired Settlement: Roof replacement.
