I am rejecting this response because: The response did not offer to resolve the complaint. MrDeSantis had multiple opportunities to do the job correctly. I do not believe he has the appropriate level of training to correctly install a tiled shower. I have attached documentation from *** (the system he used) stating how bad the installation was, and also pointing out that he used the wrong type of thin-set, installed the drain incorrectly and did not use the water-proofing as their product recommends. Furthermore, all three quotes from "new" contractors point out that wall tile was used on the floor. Wall tile is less durable than floor tile and it has a different finish - one that is very slick when wet (not a good idea to use on a bathroom floor where people will be wet when they step onto it out of the shower).
I also attached correspondence between myself and MrDeSantis regarding the fact that he deliberately overcharged me for the purchase of the tile and then tried to cover it up by generating a "dummy" receipt. He stated the actual receipt was with his accountant because he purchased the tile in DEC of 2014. Upon further investigation and with the actual *** *** receipt (MrDesantis finally produced it) he charged me twice the amount as the tile cost. I think it is important for consumers to know this so they can avoid being ripped off or if they are former clients, they can go back and look at their paperwork to ensure they were not overcharged.
I also attached an email where he accepts the liability amount of $4800. I would like for him to honor that acceptance and pay me the $he agreed to pay. Thank you for your help.Regards,*** ***

Dear [redacted]:
I am in receipt of your letter regarding the complaint of [redacted], [redacted], Mechanicsburg, PA [redacted]. I am responding ONLY to advise you that we are awaiting contact from her attorney to proceed to either settle her complaint or proceed to...

court. You are welcome to contact our attorney, [redacted], [redacted], Mechanicsburg, PA [redacted] PH: ###-###-####*
We cannot try this case on [redacted], the Internet or with your firm, but please allow me to share some information with you:
• We have been doing tile shower work and installations since 2004. There are 36 pictures of our work on our [redacted] Page
• We regularly visit our Customers to follow up and do annual repairs on caulk, grout or other settlement issues
• I have contacted numerous Customers since the complaint of [redacted] and no other Customer with Tile Work dating back to 2004 has any issues, in fact the comment is typically “it looks as good as the day you installed it”
• After receiving [redacted]'s complaint we reviewed the Material Charges and immediately refunded the amount she claimed was overcharged. She was erroneously charged for materials of construction which I agreed I would pay for.
• When [redacted] mentioned that we did not install moisture barrier between the walls and tile I contacted the Silver Spring Township Building Inspector who told me that a moisture barrier was NOT required on interior walls.• I also contacted the manufacturer of the [redacted] Board who also stated that a Moisture Barrier was NOT required with their material.
• We did have an issue with the shower base and have made repeated efforts to make repairs, settle or send in another Contractor at our expense to make the repairs necessary.
I am not certain if this answers your question or is a proper response. I wanted to present the pure facts to you without trying the case on your website or within the public domain. We are eager to settle this matter and get on with our business. It is unfortunate that this matter has gone so far.
You should know that we charged [redacted] $2,500 for the work we performed. She received a 50% discount for being a good friend of a good friend. We did attempt to make a reasonable settlement with an amenable payment plan as her claim is nearly twice the charge for the work we did.
Thank you,
Dominick D Managing Partner
