Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As pointed [redacted]n has tried to work with us over the several months (suppose to take a week), but at this time, the work is not getting done right and we need to think of another alternatives (like painting the cabinets all one color, as the staining is not working with [redacted]n's team and I am not sure we can send down doors a forth time). Some doors have been over sanded and the raised portions are very low and some do not even have much of a raised portion any longer. The cabinets still have an orange hue and tint to them, and still do not match the first sample [redacted]n did months ago. I gave Brain and his multiple teams the benefit of the doubt and thought things would get fixed, but cannot have them back in the house to do any more work at this time.  We tried the stain on cabinets, and the sample looked great, but for some reason the doors still have that Orange hue. [redacted] is nice guy, but his team could not deliver like the sample he did and this job just did not work out. The frames of the kitchen cabinets do not match the doors (lighter than the doors). The wine rack is still not right (after several tries), as it does not hold bottles of wine like it use to, and the glue (they forgot to nail cross bars back together), they put on the wood is not holding the wood in place, so it is moving again. Noticed that the side panels by washer & oven were not redone also, and have old stain from second job on them also. Great deal of stain was also put on bottom of cabinets (can see when sitting at kitchen table), and the guys were just sloppy.I think we have given this business many tries to get the job right, but a refund of the $8000 is the best way to go forward and get something else done, so I can stop my wife from crying over this bad workmanship and damage that was done to her cabinets interior, that she took pride in for the last 20 years, as she kept them up like new. Thanks for your understanding,
Regards,

contacted a week later that it wasn't right. I agreed again to do the cabinets for a 3rd time. I did not play any games of trying to do half of them or just doors and drawers, but asked that we wait a month to make sure we got the sample right and every one was in agreement. For the 3rd time we completely stripped everything off and sanded down to bare wood both in house on frames and all doors and drawers. It was a painstaking process but everything was clearly down to the bare wood leaving no reside of stain from the past. The customer agreed with this.  We then stained and lacqured everything and was told it was perfect by the customer, and I believe by a designer they had hired. It complimented the counter and floor the way they wanted it. As cited by customer, we damaged the paper veneer inside and for the next few weeks attempted to find a contact paper that would fix it but had no luck and ended up buying a veneer. We met at the house (now about a month and half after our 3rd attempt) and again were told the stain was great but needed to fix the wine rack and veneers. The wine rack was fixed but veneer did not work so planned on staining the inside areas where damage happened. It is here where we dropped the ball and I understand the customers frustration in our  coming back and fixing this.It is now been over 4 months since the cabinets had been redone and now I am being told the color is not right. The suggestion that the red from previous stains was coming through is impossible since everything was stripped down to the bare white maple wood and customer saw this done in the house. The doors and drawers were also stripped and sanded down to the bare wood, taking at least 60 hours of time to do this before they were stained. I did not want to have to do this again, so I gurantee there was no red stain left on wood at shop or in house. They are very nice people and very paitient with us. On the first two attempts with the stain we were told almost immediately there was a problem and I did not hestitate to fix it at any cost to them. Waiting over 4 months later and asking for a refund is not something I'm willing to do. I will definitely fix the inside of cabinets and what has happened to wine rack at no additional cost or compensate them an agreed upon amount for someone else to do this.

The complaint that was filed July 27th and follow up complaints talks as if we were still working at the house.  This is not accurate.  The work on cabinets was completed approximately April 20th.  Upon completion, I was told everything looked "great'.  There were two items that still needed to be addressed, fixing a wine rack and repairing inside of cabinets. One month later we were back at the house and was told again, "the cabinets look great". We attempted to fix the wine rack and put a veneer inside the cabinets but it did not work.  As stated before, we dropped the ball on this and I am willing to pay for these repairs. Two more months went by and now I'm being told the color is not right and they want to be reimbursed $8,000. Again, the work was completed 3 months prior to the complaint, we were not asked to return and  change anything with the color during this 3 month time period because it "looked great", and we did no further work on the cabinets in the past 3 months prior to the complaint. (wine rack and inside cabinets still needed to be fixed). It is the equivalent of buying a car, driving it for 3 months, then asking for all the money back because I don't like the color anymore. As stated, I am willing to pay for someone to fix the wine rack and veneers inside the cabinets for a mutually agreed upon price.  If the customer feels they don't like the color, they can contract with a vendor who can easily glaze whatever color they now want on there and seal it at a reasonable cost.

Review: Contracted with Desert refinishing to re-stain our white wash cabinet (in Kitchen, wet bar, bathrooms laundry room and staircase), a brown color with accents (that [redacted] created sample for at beginning and looked great, but could never match again). It was to take one week and began on Feb 16th. They tried to do it now 3 times (taking over 3 months), and the color has an orange tint in it as the first time they used to much umber in the stain, and cannot get rid of it now. In addition, they damaged all cabinets interiors with acetone. In addition the wet bar wine rack has been installed improperly and the smaller wine boltless no longer fit in the wine rack and slip and fall and may break. in addition, there were several times when they said someone would be out to work on something, but never showed up. Very frustrating to work with and not well managed.Desired Settlement: I am looking for refund of money paid for service, that was not met after allowing them 3 attempts.
