Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2016/06/21) */
Dear Ms***,
Customer service is important to Desert Crossing Dental Group and we strive to ensure our patients are happy with all aspects of treatmentWe regret that Ms*** is not happy with the treatment provided by our office
and the associated costs of the same
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for a tooth that has been restoratively treated to need additional treatment including, but not limited to endodontic treatment or even extraction of the toothContrary to Ms***'s statement, as evidenced by her signature on the Informed Consent Form dated March 28,2016, she was advised before the crown treatment began, that the need for root canal therapy was a possible outcome of the crown treatment
The Informed Consent Form states in part: "Occasionally the pulp (nerve tissue) may be irritated by the preparation process or from prior trauma or decayThis may make my tooth extremely sensitiveI understand that, if this persists, root canal therapy may be necessary at an additional charge..."
We have made every effort to assist Ms*** with her financial concerns for the payment relative to the treatment which has been renderedHowever, root canal therapy is a separate procedure from the crownThe cost of the crown does not include provision for root canal therapyAs such, Ms*** remains responsible for the fee for both services
In short, we remain willing to assist Ms*** with a payment plan for the services renderedPlease let us know if we can be of further assistance
Respectfully,
Desert Crossing Dental Group and Orthodontics
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2016/06/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Firstly, I paid the bill at Desert Crossing Dental Group, and owe them nothing, which proves they are dishonest in their responsealso, I signed paperwork,as I do with every procedure, but was not once explained that I could end up with not one,but two root canalsThen I was told I was threatening them if I didn't pay my billIt was harassment, and I had no choice, but to pay the billThey wanted my credit card in file, so they had access to my money and just take money as they pleasedAll they care about is money at Desert Crossing Dental, and my bill was paidI owe them nothing, so this proves they are dishonestThy lied to the Better Buisness Bureau!
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2016/07/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is apparent, that Desert Dental Crossing is all about the moneyThe almost $I paid for my teeth did not include their guarantee that my teeth would be beautiful with no problemsNot one person sat down with me and said there is a risk of root canalNot one person said this risk is great for root canalNo one said a wordAll they did was have me sign papers, which I do for every VISIT!! Also, dealing with the receptionist was a bad experienceShe accused me of threatening herIt was a terrible experienceThe bottom line is,is if someone would have said, that I could end up with any root canals, I would NOT have had my teeth done.PERIODThey were dishonestThey do not stand behind their product! And the people I work with, who could've been potential clients, are horrified I was charged extra for their mistakeApparently, almost ,which I am still paying, wasn't enough for this money hungry dental office
Final Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2016/07/14) */
Dear Ms***,
This letter is regarding Ms***'s appeal of the initial response we had sent to you dated June 22, Upon further review of her account, Ms*** is correct in that her account is paid in fullWe apologize for the error in our previous repsonse
Regarding the fact that Ms*** does not feel she should be responsible for the separate charge for the endodontic treatment provided, as previously stated, it is not uncommon for a tooth that has been restoratively treated to need additional treatment including, but not limited to endodontic treatment or even extraction of the toothContrary to Ms***'s statement, as evidenced by her signature on the Informed Consent Form dated March 28, 2016, she was advised before the crown treatment began, that the need for root canal therapy was a possible outcome of the crown treatment
The Informed Consent Form states in part: "....Occasionally the pulp (nerve tissue) may be irritated by the preparation process or from prior trauma or decayThis may make my tooth extremely sensitiveI understand that, if this persists, root canal therapy may be necessary at an additional charge"
Please be aware, root canal therapy is a separate procedure from the crownThe cost of the crown does not include provision for root canal therapyAs such, Ms*** was appropriately charged for both services and a refund is not warrentedPlease let us know if we can be of further assistance
