I have to agree with the other reviewer about this company not knowing much about appraisalsThey got assigned to us through the bank for refinance, appraisal took less than min, and came very lowWe complained to bank and got another appraisal ordered, new appraisal took about an hour, very detailed and appraisal came $350,more than this ladies appraisalSomeone needs to look into this company as to why they are allowed to do appraisals of luxury homes
Unfortunately our experience with this company was quite negative. We were trying to refinance our home, [redacted] and [redacted] came out to do the appraisal and were done within 25-30 minutes. A few days later it came back that our home was appraised at $380,000. We were completely shocked and knew this was absolutely incorrect! Especially since our next door neighbors just sold their house 2 months prior for $650,000. We made a big fuss but they were unwilling to talk to us. So the bank, knowing this was an incorrect appraisal (THANK GOODNESS), ordered another appraisal using a different company. When the second company came out, they took about an hour and a half looking around our property, and this second company came back with an appraisal of $575,000. The difference was that Desert Eagle Appraisals compared our property to other properties that were 1) much farther east of us (cheaper) and 2) on much less land than we are on (ex/ we are on 5.5 acres and they compared us to homes on 1.5 acres). There were 3 homes in our development (within 3 blocks of us) that had sold within the last 6 months that they did not include in our appraisal. This type of error is inexcusable! In my opinion, Desert Eagle Appraisals did an inadequate job of appraising our home, and this could have had very negative financial implications on my family if the bank we were working with wasn't as understanding as they were. I was very disappointed with their service, and would warn others not to use them if possible.
