Desert Painting and Repair has done great work for us. The paint job at our commercial office in Peoria looks excellent. Adam and his crew are always on time, and always do a great job cleaning up after they work.

I have to commend [redacted] and his “crew” for jobs well done! I have been working with Desert Painting and Repair for many years and call them whenever the need arises. They have put in new heat pumps, tile flooring, drip system and a new roof in my home. No job is too small and they guarantee the work that they perform. Many of my friends now use them as well and rave about the work that they have had done by DP&R. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for any type of work to be done on their home, they do it all.

Review: 1. [redacted] stated that he is a license contractor; later we found out that he is not.

2. [redacted] did not order the French door according to our specifications and desire. We communicated multiple times our specifications and goals.

3. [redacted] ordered the French door with incorrect measurements that did not fit our door opening; because of this [redacted] needed to readjust the opening. He explained needing to do this in order to "meet code." However, we have since found out the original measurement was "up to code."

4. He has not provided an invoice or a receipt for the French doors despite requesting it several times from the beginning of the job.

5. We had to point out painting not completed, screens not securely screwed in, and several other "finishing" items to be completed.

6. We requested our security and front door to be rehung -- he did not. As evidence of improper installation, the security door did not open and close properly, and we could not lock it. His solution to this was to exchange the lock and doorknob (the doorknob is now on top, the lock on the bottom). And the security doorknob is so close to the frame that you cannot fit your hand around the [redacted] 7. He charged for the additional work needed to enlarge the door opening due to his ordering the wrong sized door.

8. The invoice reflects that we paid less than we really did. There is a payment said that we paid $1372.47, when we really paid $1609.23Desired Settlement: 1. The receipt and invoice of the French door ordered.

2. Refund of money paid for jobs ill-completed.

3. An invoice reflecting the charges and what we really paid for.

Response:

1. I did not tell, imply or infer to the client I was a licensed contractor. 2. There was no way of knowing exactly how the old door was installed without taking off the entire frame of the door. The measurements I took were as viewed from the exterior of the home. The door I ordered for them was just as they had asked. A french door with screens so they could open the window to let in fresh air. When the door came in we began to install it and found the door was to large for the opening. We rebuilt the header to accommodate a standard size french door( exterior). There was a delay in getting the door as [redacted] was waiting for the screens. After we had installed the door with the temporary screens, painted it, had the stucco redone to match the existing exterior, installed the doggie door and the interior paint they were very happy. We also removed and reset both the front door and the security door that had been previously installed by the owner. There was stucco done around the front door also to accommodate the moved security door. Everything seemed fine when we left. A few days later the client called to say that the front door would not close properly. After inspecting this issue we suggested that they move the top and bottom lock so that the door handles did not hit each other. When the permanent screens finally came in we installed them and it was then that they explained they wanted Full screens for the entire door not just the ones for the sidelites. We bought an aftermarket screen for the door, but it did not work. We ordered a screen from [redacted] to put in the door. After it was installed the client said he did not like it, because there was a gap. We took the screen out and returned it telling the client we were going on vacation and would order a new door for him when we came back. While we were on vacation he asked for a reciept for the door and the invoice. As we were on vacation there was nothing I could do at that point. When we returned from vacation we sent him a message and asked what he wanted us to do at this point. He wanted a new door and wanted us to cut the opening wider for the front door so that the handle would work properly, and repair the holes in the frame of the other door that were made to accommodate the [redacted] screen. As I did not think that anything I did at this point was going to make him happy I countered with giving him his money back for the job and the receipt for the door that was purchased. I have an appointment with him Friday October 18th to do just that.

Desert Painting is amazing! They work hard and get the job done fast. They are friendly and very professional! They installed wood flooring in my whole house and when [redacted], the owner came to check on things he was not happy with the pattern that was being used and even though it would cost him an extra day, he had them pull it up and redo it! The cost of labor was great and they did an amazing job! They worked around my schedule and I felt very comfortable with [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] in my home! They were more like good friends than hired workers. Will use them anytime I need something done at the house! An absolutely wonderful experience and they did an excellent job! I am so happy!!!!

I would highly recommend Desert Paint & Repair. We had to paint the outside of our house last year and they were very fair with their pricing and did an amazing job in just 2 days! They did an excellent job fixing some areas that required additional repair including some of the woodwork. Today we came home from work and had NO WATER! We called Desert Paint & Repair at 6:30 and they were here by 8pm, we had water by 8:30 pm! To have called an emergency plumber would have cost hundreds of dollars. We will continue referring Desert Paint & Repair to all our friends, families, co-workers, neighbors, etc. Thank you [redacted] and Desert Paint & Repair!!

AMAZING AMAZING SERVICE and workmanship! Only business I will call. Have been working with them for a very long time. No job to small and no matter the size or job 100% of dedicated time is committed! Thanks DP&R!
