We recently built a home in a community on a golf course and wanted to install shutters throughout After obtaining a number of estimates and looking at a variety of products, we decided to go with [redacted] at Desert Shutters and Shades The shutters arrived on time and we were excited to have them installed I have to say that the shutters exceed our expectations They are truly beautiful, were installed well and have helped make our house into a home Originally I would have fully recommended Desert Shutters and Shades, but we ran into some issues that leave me unable to give a fully positive review: As I had paid the first half in cash, an assumption was made that I would make the second payment in cash I was unable to do so, and was charged an additional $to put a portion on credit I had to borrow the remainder of cash from my daughter Nowhere on the quote was there a notation that the offer was for a cash-only deal The young men who came to do the install were not comfortable installing the bypass sliders, so the installation was done over days As I was on vacation, this was not a problem, but would have been an issue during a work week An error was made, and a shutter was ordered for an upstairs bathroom instead of the one downstairs I was asked to pay the $difference in the cost Due to the error in ordering, I needed to take additional days off of work One day to be home when they can come to measure the window and another to have it installed I might use this company again, but would make sure that the communication was better I would clarify if the price was cash only and would double and triple check the order Although I understand that there was a cost involved to the owners, I believe that the inconvenience of the extra days involved should have resulted in the extra costs being absorbed by the company All in all, I believe this company offers a high quality product and wants to please their customers, however I am left questioning their professionalism and ethics Their product is beautiful and will add value and beauty to any home, but the consumer should be cautious
