As far as I'm concerned these people are great. Mark had done a great job in training Sandie. He's not afraid to tell me what I'm doing wrong while I'm training Sandie at home. I like it when people are honest and up front with me. Good Job Mark and Gail and thank you so much for all your hard work.

Our dog, Bravo, trained with Mark a couple of months ago. I can't say enough positive things about this experience. First, Mark's wife, Gail, was very thorough in explaining things before we even took him to their home to check things out. After meeting Gail and Mark and talking to Mark about his philosophy in dog training, we knew this was the place. Over the next 2 weeks, Gail was wonderful in not only keeping us informed via Facebook but phone calls if there were any questions. All the photos showed our wonderful Bravo having a good time while learning. He stayed in a kennel in Gail and Mark's home at night while in training. When I went to pick up Bravo, Mark worked with me, showing me what and how to continue the things Bravo had learned. At one point, Bravo went over and just put his head on Mark's knee, relaxing. A sign of a happy, well taken student. Bravo's behavior is very good. There are times he wants to just be a "puppy" again, but the difference in before and after with Mark and Gail is very positive. I would highly recommend Desert Sky K9!!!

I am a bit delayed in posting this, however, I am VERY pleased with services provided at Desert Sky K9. I delivered two Doberman pups (sisters - yeah, I'm a little crazy I guess) to Mark and Gail when they were about 6 months old. They are loving girls but certainly more energetic than any puppies I have encountered before. Mark and Gail extended their "boot camp" training a few weeks (at no extra charge) recognizing they both required a bit more attention and one-on-one training. They are a stand-up business and back their commitment to you and your dog 100%! Immediately after bringing our girls home their training was helpful. We dropped off what would be the equivalent to two twin toddlers with extreme ADHD and picked up normal puppies that would actually listen and could be integrated into our home! Before training we could not let the girls off the leash in the house - even supervised. Now, they can mingle and be part of the family! I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to use DesertSky K9, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone who is struggling with their dogs behavior! THANK YOU SO MUCH Mark & Gail!

We found Desert Sky K9 by simply scouring the internet for dog trainers. We had recently purchased a Belgian Malinois and knew that he would need professional training. Kylo was literally taking over the house. He wouldn't listen to any of our commands and taking him on a walk was ridiculous. We called Mark and Gail and set up an interview. After deciding to go ahead with the training, we were excited, yet nervous about Kylo going through the puppy boot camp. We were leaving the newest member of our family with virtual strangers. I was really worried about how the training would go and how Kylo would do with the whole situation.

We were elated with the training that Kylo received from Mark. To watch Mark work with Kylo was unbelievable. In just two short weeks Mark had completely turned Kylo into a different dog! Kylo was still Kylo with all of his energy and personality, but controlled! Kylo knew all of his commands and executed them with perfection. When we saw Kylo interacting with Mark, we knew he had been well taken care of. When Mark would sit down, Kylo would sit down right beside him and wag his tail and roll over on his back to get a belly rub. You hear of so many horror stories where animals are mistreated while being trained. NOT the case with Mark and Gail. This was totally the right decision we made. In fact, we bought a female Malinois and Mark and Gail are going to train her as well. Well worth the money!!

We took our puppy Leonidas to Mark and Gail to train for as ESA dog. They are the best!!!! Leonidas was well taken care of, and the training Mark did was wonderful!! They even train us to use the commands Leo was taught. We will go back and have even more training (which yes, I need probably more than the puppy!) I would recommend Desert Sky K9 to everyone!!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about our experience with Desert Sky k9. Their are a lot of places that you could take your dog for training, but after doing many interviews we found a lot of people weren't very qualified. After meeting Gail and Mark and having a long interview process with them, we decided this was the place to bring our pup for training. This couple loves animals, they own quite a few of their own. One of the things that impressed me the most is how Mark communicates with the dogs. He has a very unique understanding of animal behavior. He was able to quickly determine what type of training our pup needed. The love and care that they have shown our dog is amazing. Training doesn't just stop with the animal, they go above and beyond to help you understand your dogs behavior and why they may act a certain way. I admit, I felt nervous leaving my pet with them for the training cycle, would my puppy remember me? During my puppy's training with Desert Sky K9, Gail kept me updated daily with messages and pictures of the progress that Mark had been making with him. We picked our pup up about 2 weeks later and he absolutely remembered us! We had a timid puppy when we came to them, when we picked him up we had a perfectly mannered, self confident extremely well behaved dog. I would absolutely recommend Desert Sky K9 for your dog training needs. Gail and Mark are truly amazing!

I found Sadie at the [redacted] in March 2016 she was covered in ticks, suffering an eye infection, malnourished and broken teeth. Clearly an outside dog for the 3 years of her life with no obedience and aggressive towards other dogs. After series of medication and Vet visits and dog walks I wanted desperately for Sadie to finally live a peaceful life. I found Gail and Mark through word of mouth and after speaking with them over the phone I felt comforted, at ease and knew they were the right ones to take Sadie in. Not only are they passionate about what they do; this is their life and live for their animals. After enrolling Sadie in their 2 week program Sadie came home knowing several commands; Mark took the time to teach me the skills I needed to continue her training at home. They also offered to bring Sadie back for a refresher course or if I needed help with commands or introducing her to my boyfriends dog, at no charge. Two months have passed since her training and Sadie continues to strive and is very happy!!!! Thank you Mark and Gail!!!

I would highly recommend Desert Sky K9 to any one looking to train their dog professionally. Mark and Gail made themselves very available to us during our dog's training and have continued to work with us after. Our very large, very energetic and very loving puppy Bear is much calmer and has learned his manners while keeping his playful personality. It is very obvious that Mark and Gail truly care about the dogs they train as Bear is always excited to see them.

Do not hesitate hiring Desert Sky K9 (Mark and Gail)! Best investment I ever made. I have a 5 month old Pompoo who needed training for many behaviors. I interviewed many companies via phone and in person. Many did not pass my telephone interview. Many in-person interviews only lasted a few minutes (two I never went in). My telephone and in person interview was like talking with family. When I took my Stella for the in-person interview, she gave both hugs and kisses with tail a waggin! Mark was very knowledgeable on training styles and was generous to make immediate behaviors of mine! I loved that! Many people would tip toe around the owners ego, but I admire direct and honest observations! Needless to say, I immediately made my choice. I brought Stella back a few weeks later for her two week in-house Doggie Boot Camp. Sure I was nervous, but Stella had her kisses ready with her tail a waggin, and I felt at ease again. Sure I called almost every day and received the days events. When I picked her up at the conclusion, she was quite a well trained young lady. I swear she held her head up higher, so proud of herself. I was so delighted at the results, I had to give Mark a big hug! My husband, who is hard to please, had tears in his eyes! I can't say enough about the love and attention your dog will get at Desert Sky K9!

We recently had our dog Logan trained by Mark at Desert Sky K9 and have had a wonderful experience. Mark and Gail clearly took great care of him as he was happy when we picked him up and adjusted well after the almost three weeks with them when he came back home. He was also excited to see them again the following week when we did a training session together. He seems like a happy, well adjusted and very well trained dog. He is now a great pleasure to take on walks as he heals and stays with me, does his commands regularly with ease and seems more confident that he did previously when he sees people and other dogs. I had gotten so stressed out just taking him for walks before the training. In our follow up training session Mark also gave some great tips for adjustments we can make with Logan which have helped tremendously. Mark and Gail are so responsive to all of our contact and questions and we look forward to boarding him there in the future since he clearly loves it and feels comfortable with them. Excellent !! Worth every penny !!

Regardless of your dogs breed, age or training experience, You will see marked improvement in your dogs obedience. My 2 year old chocolate Labrador is a wonderful girl, but she was easily distracted, excitable on leash around other dogs and not trustworthy off leash.

Two weeks with Mark at Desert Sky K-9 and she has done a complete 180.

My sweet girl now has manners which make her a joy to take out in public, there is no more aggression when on leash around other dogs and she has the training and actually seeks the positive attention she gets from her new skills.

Mark and Gail are wonderful, they love animals and treat your dog as one of their own.

After his Boot Camp training, he now knows how to please. The best part of Boot Camp training is the training we, as owners, received. We contacted [redacted] about our German Shepherd, Kallie, when she was just over one year old. Kallie didn't listen to a word we said, she endlessly barked, and was an all around difficult pup. When we explained the situation, [redacted] was eager to help. When he found out that my husband lost limbs serving his country, [redacted] and [redacted] bent over backwards to help us with our girl. Kallie spent 10 days with [redacted] and when we came to pick her up, she was a completely different dog. She had such confidence and pride and we were so proud. That was nearly two years ago and Kallie is still perfect. Her obedience on a leash and respect for us is unparalleled. We adore [redacted] and [redacted] and feel comfortable coming to them at any time if we have any questions or concerns. They are wonderful at explaining things and are a zero BS couple, which we appreciate. There isn't anyone that we trust with our Kallie Girl like [redacted] and [redacted]. Kallie LOVES being with [redacted] and we wouldn't trust the love and care for our girl with anyone but [redacted] and [redacted].

To anyone interested in dog training, I would highly recommend Desert Sky K-9. [redacted] and [redacted] are both amazing people and in all honesty, I do not usually trust anyone to take care of my dog as I would and these two sure did. I am truly impressed with their services and I have already recommended some friends to them.

While looking into dog training I was very cautious as to which training program to use. With all of the abuse stories we hear and with all of these places that keep the dog in a kennel, it is hard to find anywhere where you know you and your dog will be happy. When I found Desert Sky K-9 I searched for reviews, as I was very nervous to put my four-legged child (literally my child) into someone else’s care. All of the reviews on [redacted] and [redacted] are wonderful except for one. At the time one negative comment was enough to concern me but with so many five star ratings and one negative one, I called. Poor [redacted] had to deal with my million questions (you can even as her)! She answered all of my questions and explained everything to me.

I dropped my puppy (Xerxes) off and I think both he and I were sad to be apart but all in all this was a great experience. [redacted] and [redacted] treated my dog like one of their own. He trained with [redacted] and got to socialize with other dogs, hardly being kenneled except to eat or sleep. When I came to pick him up a week later, I got to watch [redacted] and Xerxes working so well together. Xerxes was very happy to see me but I could tell that he just bonded so well with the two of them, especially with [redacted]. I am so happy with my dogs training and with how well he was cared for. I am looking forward to working with these two again very soon and I hope that many other people will get the opportunity to work with them too.

The boarding/training option (Doggie Boot Camp) is a complete joke. My dog came back to me injured- upon arrival home we had to take him to the emergency vet for an injured leg and puncture wounds to his neck. The owner is a neanderthal- if you are a woman, I would highly suggest steering clear of this misogynist.For example, the statement was made "Let the men work it out" when confronted about his behavior, even though he was willing to take my $800.00, he clearly has difficulty communicating with women on a business level.

While he reimbursed me for the vet bills, I still paid $800.00 for boarding/training that left my dog kennel anxious and left me without the 'promise of lifetime training'. Not only did he deny responsibility for the injured dog (vet bills and pictures to prove it) he insisted that we were horrible dog owners, liars, and made personal derogatory statements about my home, my emotions after dealing with an injured dog, and my ability to keep a pet. If you want to get a good idea of how your dog will be trained, disagree with this man and watch his reaction. I am sure he will react to this review- judge for yourself. If you want your dog to be kenneled all day/night, neglected and injured, then this is the doggie boot camp for you. Don't be fooled by his wife either... once there is an issue she heads for the hills!

The long and short is, my dog got hurt in his care and he denied responsibility. I am out the money I paid for boot camp and lifetime training- there is no way I would let him train my dog since he has such little respect for his customers.

I have been dealing with [redacted] for many years. It was a nightmare trying to find someone to care for my dogs when I went out of town. My dogs had been trained to protect and no one wanted to care for dogs that were "bite trained", My Rottweiler was unboardable. Two of my other dogs few would watch unless they demanded huge money that I could not afford. [redacted] was willing to care for them. My Rottweiler adored him. My other two dogs also enjoy being around [redacted]. Even my little dog that hates everyone but me and my wife will allow [redacted] to hold her. That says a lot! I used to train dogs. So I am hesitant to recommend trainers. [redacted] has such an open mind with training that he is always learning from others. I have since recommended him to numerous friends and family members. [redacted] lives for his dogs. They are his family. Just as my dogs are my "kids". He spent a fortune on his beloved Malinois just to give her a pain free extra few months of life. I know few people that would do that. I have seen many dogs he has adopted and saved from the pound. [redacted] has been a blessing to us. He has allowed us to be able to go out of town without worry. I highly recommend Desert Sky K9.

Our experience with Desert Sky K9 was (and is) excellent. We did a board and train, [redacted] kept our dog a little longer than normal, which he estimated when we dropped her off. He needed extra time with our dog and wanted to make sure she was ready to go home. [redacted] is obviously compassionate with all of the dogs and treats them with respect. We still attend [redacted]'s recommended handling lessons and would not hesitate to board with Desert Sky in the future.
