Mike's affordable spa company was low cost and will highly recommend his service

This company is wonderful It’s a small what I’d call “Mom and Pop/ One Man Show”… Mike is the Owner and also the sole Spa Technician I found ASC after I had my old spa company absolutely slaughter the plumbing, hunting for the source of a simple leak and charging us for a complete motor rebuild, none of which was necessary
With our previous spa company: You know how it normally goes… you have a slight leak… you call “your guy”… he “fixes it”… but each time the “fix” he left you with, either looked strange, didn’t feel right when you were watching him do it, or that he made the internals leak worse in other areas Of course, the bad leaks don’t rear their ugly heads until after using the tub long after the old technician was paid and racing to his next call Before I knew it, we were into our rogue leak repair a painful $and tech visits in over a month term… and all to have it leak worse than it did before with no hope in sight
Being at wits end and desperate to get the old technician to warranty his shoddy work, he became increasingly hard to reach or commit to fixing his plumbing disaster He already had our money, he assured us he had no time to return, and we still had our leaky, miserable spa Thankfully, after harrassing the old technician, he relented and sent Mike with ASC in his stead to rectify the plumbing nightmare
As soon as our job was outsourced to Mike with ASC, we were immediately wowed by the professionalism we were not accustomed to in spa repair Teresa called me within the hour of knowing our job was being reassigned to ASC I received texts and a phone call confirming promptly ASC’s commitment to the job Keep in mind, this was an unpaid job for ASC, only as an agreement between the two companies to correct the wrong that went down with our last company
Even before ASC/ Mike was scheduled to come out, during previous nights, I would text ASC with the issues I was noticing to give Mike a heads up Within minutes of my messages, I would be comforted with tips from Teresa on my troubleshooting questions She would also reassure me Mike would fix it, and he did
The long-awaited spa repair day came… ASC/ Mike arrived minutes early and I was happily surprised to see him carefully open and close our yard gate behind him so to not let any animals out into the street (This was a constant issue with the previous spa company, as simple a request it was.) Mike was professional, friendly, and kindly courteous Upon meeting him for the first time, I grilled him on his background experience, and happily discovered he worked several years for the original company who actually BUILT our year old hot tub!
As a contractor, I have learned it’s best to hire the trades people who are happy to teach you as they work These individuals take great pride in their work and value good work ethic , honesty, and integrity This seems evident as they empower and encourage a customer to learn the details during the job Mike is this guy
Despite this being an unpaid job for ASC, Mike spent several hours trouble shooting the source of the leak He tirelessly showed me how the spa was assembled with water and air tubing (tracing back all water and air flex lines), and how the air controller valves modify air intake along with the basics of how to troubleshoot spa leaks for the homeowner He completely replumbed the messy patch job the previous tech did, correcting the connections to go to the appropriate controllers so the diverter could push air through the correct pathways to the jets He showed me how to remove all jets myself, giving me an old-school vinegar maintenance recipe for an annual cleaning of the tub that would prolong the jet’s longevity and remove dirt clogs in the air lines
Mike showed me in addition to the mis-connected air and water lines, the flapper valve in the replaced air controller had also gone bad, creating the persistent leak that seemed to ghost back and forth between multiple controls He also showed me that the accumulation of dirt inside the large back jet coupled with the misaligned plumbing ( from the previous company), created additional pressure pushing water back up through the air controls’ dry lines
He pulled apart the cabinetry to make sure no other leaks were present, and to my surprise, he found yet another leak in the back corner which was being caused by this uneven pressure from dirt build up in the air line He told me normally, the air lines are replaced, but he said, it is more affordable to clean them with vinegar/water mix running through the tub, followed by a good draining, and blow out using a standard shop vac on each dry jet If one does this annually, this will keep your tub in good health as far as the ‘arteries’ are concerned
I shared with him that my old tech charged me for an unnecessary complete motor rebuild, and new filter and would only give me a part number when I asked where I could get them from Mike/ASC reassured me, they were easy to come by, that my local hardware store sold filters for $just down the street I asked him about the control panel, given the buttons were becoming difficult to push over the years… he advised it would be best to only replace the panel when it stops working altogether At that point, he told me where I could buy a replacement myself for $15, and said changing it now wasn’t necessary
The additional chlorine bobber I had been told by the previous company was “vital” for a healthy water chemistry, Mike/ASC explained it wasn’t, only inputting excess acidity in the water that would eventually degrade the plastic of the spinner jets Mike further stated the motor rebuild I had was not only unnecessary, but if that was ever necessary in the future, his pricing was far more reasonable than what we had paid the previous company, months before we met him
He even encouraged me, instead of buying an expensive fitted cover for my spa cover, to use a fitted bed sheet to differ the harmful UV sun’s rays, but to also allow the heat to escape a baking spa cover during the summer months What a great cost-effective idea!
It was clear that even in the midst of fixing the shoddy repair work from the previous company at no cost to my family… that Mike/ ASC was sincere and valued good service above all else As a novice to spa repair myself, there were several opportunities to capitalize financially on our ignorance where the previous company clearly took advantage for their own financial gain However, with ASC, that was not the case as Mike spent hours educating us through his demonstration of true, honest service
If you are in need of honest, dependable service with the nostalgia of when people took pride in their work, this is the company to call My only worry is that he is so good, a small company like this won’t stay small long, and we hope he will always have time for us! Mike's Repair is very friendly and honest ! I bought a spa from a gentlemen late last year witch the spa wasnt functioning right so the gentleman sent out mike and He came out to my home out in Queen Creek back in Febuary and he was in and out and fixed my Hotspring within minuets. I would always keep his information for future maintenance to my spa. Great Job!
