Review: March 18, 2013 - I placed an order for a rug (Monterey runner, terra cotta); delivery was promised in 3 - 4 weeks. Payment made in full at [redacted] store.

April 22, 2013 - I emailed [redacted] at DesI and asked for a status on delivery

April 24 - [redacted] said she'd get back to me but didn't. [redacted] store was closed. Order being handled from [redacted].

May 1 - I emailed [redacted] and asked her to take care of the order. She said she'd contacted [redacted], the makers of the rug, and was waiting for a response. Said I should follow-up again in mid to late May. We did also speak on the phone at least once.

May 17 - I contacted [redacted] myself. They said customers have complained about DesI but could do nothing to facilitate my delivery.

May 17 - I wrote again to [redacted] and asked demanded that my rug be delivered. They have my money; I want my rug.

Also: I'm moving from my current address to a new place on June 5th. The Rug Should Have Been Delivered By NowDesired Settlement: I want my rug delivered to [redacted] by June 5th. If they can't deliver by June 5th, then the rug needs to be sent to [redacted].

Review: We shopped at Desi Living Innovations on 12/2/2012 and purchased a Susan Charcol Dorchester Sofa Xl for $891.61. The order number is #[redacted]. We have NEVER received our furniture and it has been 4+ months since they stole our money. We have contacted the other locations ([redacted]) because the [redacted] store is now closed. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone. The only time we did the sales reps said they couldn't look up the order in their system because it was purchased at the [redacted] location, but that the owner would be calling. We never heard from the owner and have since tried to call back 3 times a day at both locations with no response; a busy tone; or an automatic voicemail saying no one is available.Desired Settlement: We want a complete refund of $891.61 since we were never given the product that we paid the money for.

Review: I purchased a sofa from Desi Living Innovations in [redacted], MD on April 10, 2010. It was a special order and was to be delivered to us in our home in [redacted] MD.

After having and using the sofa for about 2 months, the tufts in the sofa started to release / come loose. We called Desi Living Innovations to request a repair under the warranty. They dispatched a repair person and he repaired the tufts that had released. Since then, more tufts have released and the seat cushion part of the sofa has sunken an is bulging out on the front part of the sofa. This is unacceptable and I have all of the paperwork from the original sale. This sofa is supposed to come with a "5 year Warranty against the springs. . . free of any defects in material and workmanship... from date of purchase." It is just only 3 years and this sofa is in poor conditions. We take very good care of our furniture. It is just me and my husband that sit on it. We do not have children, and are not overweight, so there is NO reason this should be happening.

I called Desi today (June 15, 2013) to make an official complaint and try to schedule a warrantied repair only to find the phone line is disconnected. I also Googled the company "[redacted]" which is listed on our warranty for service. They have a website but NO contact information and no way to place a claim. The web address on my warranty is [redacted] which takes me nowhere. We are now stuck with a sofa that is just 3 years old and falling apart.Desired Settlement: I would like the warranty to be honored by either repairing the sofa at no charge to me OR replace the sofa with a new one that would have an honorable warranty OR financial compensation that I can use to take the sofa to an independent furniture repair company.

Review: On 02/17/2013, I visited the Desi store and ordered a couch. I made a down payment by personal check of $770.80 which was half the purchase price with the remainder to be paid upon delivery. The couch was due for delivery in 12-14 weeks (around June 1). In the interim, the Desi store in [redacted] closed, and I have been unable to get in contact with Desi. I have not received the couch and have heard nothing from Desi. I want my deposit returned to me.Desired Settlement: I would like Desi to return my deposit since it did not deliver the furniture I ordered. It is 3 months overdue!

Review: I purchased a sofa from Desi Living Innovations on 11/11/12 and was told it would take up to 12 weeks for delivery. I called after 10 weeks and was again told it would take 12 weeks for delivery. I called after 13 weeks and was told there was delay and they would look into new delivery date but never returned my call. I drove to the store after 14 weeks and was told I could expect delivery in 1-2 weeks. It has been 19 weeks since my purchase and I still have not received my sofa and my calls to the store go straight to voicemail. In total my wife and I have called over 12 times and have never received a call in return.Desired Settlement: I would like delivery of furniture, an apology for inconvenience, and compensation for trouble.

Review: Purchase of special order couch on August 24, 2012. Contract states special orders will take 16-18 weeks. It has been 27 weeks. The company does not respond to my messages requesting an update. They do not follow through with their promises to call with an update when I stop in at the store and ask in person.Desired Settlement: Refund or delivery of couch in 1 week.

Review: I purchased furniture from Desi in August 2012. The store told me that I can cancel my order. I cancelled my order briefly after that. The store said they are going to return my money but they did not return it. I went to the store again and purchased the floor model. They did not deliver the furniture and they are not opening their phones.Desired Settlement: Delivery of my furniture or full refund.

Review: I purchases a sofa-bed over President's Day weekend at Desi's [redacted] Store. [redacted], the owner, told me it was an in-stock item that could be delivered within a few weeks. I told him that delivery was required before March 22nd so the couch could be packed with our household goods shipment for our military reassignment to Japan. He assured me that this would not be a problem, and that his delivery people would be in contact with me.

I didn't hear anything for over a week so, on Feb 28th, I began trying to contact [redacted] by phone and e-mail. Voicemails and e-mails were never returned. I went by the [redacted] location in early March and learned, from a sign outside, that they had closed that location but that its phone number was still active (no one ever answered this number, though).

[redacted] finally answered his [redacted] phone number on Sunday, March 3rd and assured me that he would contact my wife on Tuesday, March 5th with a delivery date. He never called her.

I e-mailed him on Thursday, March 7th and told him that I expected a delivery schedule no later than the following day or else I would inform my credit card company that Desi has been unresponsive in my attempts to resolve this issue. He did not respond to this e-mail.

He answered the [redacted] phone a second time on Saturday, March 9th. He told me that he was expecting a truck to leave his [redacted] plant on Monday and that it would arrive on Wednesday, March 13th. He said he would check its bill of lading Monday and call me to let me know if it was enroute. He also told me that he was "mistaken" when he told me he had this particular sofa-bed/color in stock (though my purchase receipt says it was in stock, too).

I have been trying to call the [redacted] location since yesterday and no one answers.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund.

Review: Ordered a leather sofa and loveseat back in June 2012. Was told 12-14 weeks for delivery to California. Was told in November 2012 that the furniture was at their warehouse and would be shipped out right after Thanksgiving. Have called them numerous times (every few weeks) since that time and the furniture still has not been shipped.Desired Settlement: Paid 50% up front. Would like to be refunded.

Review: On Nov 10, 2012 an order was placed for a "DORCESTER X DEEP/XLONG SOFA" and "DOCHESTER CHAIR 1/2". $900 was paid in advance for both items with an additional $820 due upon delivery. I was told that the process would take "A good 16 weeks" and as of today it has been 20+ weeks. On 2/25/13 I called about the status of the Sofa and chair and I was told it would be another 5 weeks before delivery. Then on 3/25/13 another phone call was placed inquiring the status and was told it would be another 4-5 weeks until delivery and received $100 off delivery. I was told to call at the end of the week (asked to call back on 3/29/13) to find out more information concerning delivery. On 4/8/13 I tried to go to DESISOFAS.COM to get a phone number and found the website shut down with an error message stating "HOSTING ACCOUNT EXPIRED". I then proceeded to call all DESI stores in the area, including store in [redacted], and received no answer at every location. An email was also sent to [email protected] asking about the status of the product (as of now have not received reply). I then proceeded to drive down to the [redacted] store location to make sure the store was still open, as two of their area locations have closed in the last couple of weeks. The store was open and I was able to talk to Fran Sapp who was working. She stated that the site was down and did not know why and also stated that two of the stores had been closed recently while she also stated that two new stores would be opening soon. I had read in an article that the two new stores that would be opening would be under a new store name, which alarmed me (http://www.jdland.com/dc/index.cfm/3810/Desi-Living-Loft-Furniture-Store-Coming... I then asked if I could speak to a manager or the owner and was told that the owner, Jeff Goldstein, might be in on thursday (4/11/13) and that she (Fran) could not issue a refund, which I had requested. Fran stated that she could not give out Jeffs phone number and that he does not have an office address.Desired Settlement: I would simply like the $900 that was placed down in advance to be refunded.

Review: I purchased a sofa from this company 2/16/12. I finally received it in June 2012. I had the sofa for a couple months and it was defective. I went back to the store where they said that I could receive a new sofa due to it being defective. A replacement was ordered 9/30/12. I still have not received the new sofa....after 8 months!! 2 weeks ago I went into the [redacted] location where they said to check back in 2 weeks. So, I went to the store last night, and it is completely closed and cleaned out! No one had been returning my calls or emails. I'm not even sure that the [redacted] store is still open, I don't live near there, but it is their main office. Thank you.Desired Settlement: To receive a refund to my credit card.

Review: Over 6 months ago, specifically on 9-15-2012, we "purchased" a couch set and deposited on our credit card $1,800.00. Over six months and many, many lies later, we have received no furniture.

They rarely answer their phone and rarely return messages. When they do answer they lie typically stating our order is on the next truck. It's been on the next truck for about two months now. We are really nervous that they stole our money.

We also see on the internet several similar complaints on consumer websites like [redacted] and we also see on the net that their landlord is suing them as of March 1st, 2013 so they must not be paying their rent.Desired Settlement: We want our money back since we don't believe that the furniture we ordered exists.

Review: I bought a $1616 sofa from Desi Innovations on 12/1/2012. I paid 50% upfront, the rest was to be paid after delivery (expected March/April 2013). This company has multiple retail locations. The specific location I purchased was from their [redacted] location - which recently closed. They still have a location in [redacted]. This company simply doesnt respond to phone calls, messages, or requests for information. I need to find out information on when they can actually deliver the sofa. The [redacted] phone number no longer works. I call the [redacted] location...no one picks up the phone. I call the [redacted] location, left messages for some contact info - no response. I even found the owner of the company, [redacted] on the Internet and sent him a message, without a responDesired Settlement: I just want my sofa delivered. I have already spent $850 upfront, I just need anyone from this company to give me a call at [redacted] much appreciated.

Review: My husband and I ordered a sectional couch and ottoman from DesI on September 3, 2012. We were promised a 12-week delivery (verbally). It is now March 2, 2013 and the furniture has not been delivered. We paid $1,200 of the $2,532.87 purchase cost. We have called on multiple occasions, only to be told that the furniture would be delivered in "another two weeks." Our most recent attempts to speak with DesI have been unsuccessful. No one answers the phone and the voice mailbox is full.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my $1,200 down payment on the couch and I want to cancel the order.

Review: I ordered my Sofa From Desi Living Innovation, [redacted] Store on 10/30/2012 and sales man told me took around 12-14 weeks for this order(produce by factory and deliver). but today is 4/9/2013 (22 weeks), I still have not yet receive the sofa.

For the past 2 month, I start calling the store to check status, everytime came out with different stories and promised I should receive delivery call within a week which was never happened. Until 2 weeks ago, I found out that the [redacted] and [redacted] Stores were going to close down so I rush in to [redacted] Store on 3/30/13 (the last day ) and met the owner [redacted]. He checked the system again and promise me again that I should have deliver schedule by Thurseday 4/4/13 which is failed again. NO CALL!

I start to worried not just won't receive my sofa, I might lost my 50% down payment. Therefore, I drove an hour from [redacted] to [redacted] Store (the only store still open) on 4/5/13 to cancel this order and get refund, but the only sales Lady told me that she cannot do anything because only the owner can refund me and they won't refund to my credit card, only by check which is will take 30 days. She said will pass my message to the owner and call me back. Today is 4/9/2013, NO Calls!

I want my money back before the store out of business.Desired Settlement: since I have been waiting so long for this sofa, I can work out with the store for any similar sytle sofa to replace immediately; otherwise, I want full refund of my deposit and not the check for 30 days, , refund to my credit card or Cash.
