I am responding to the complaint form [redacted] , here is a copy of my Independent Contractors LicenseI am self employed and not an employee of Design EffectsThe rules and regulations of an IC can be found on the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology websiteI am the person who should of been contactedAlso I am sending a copy of a photo brought to my attentionIf her hair was as damaged as stated and would take a year to recover why is she recoloring in only months? This contradicts the complaint of her hair being melted off her head I tried to condition your hair as well as cut it , the half empty container was something for you to try others were offered as wellYou refused everything and I didn't receive any money from you to refund [redacted] ***

I have pictures of the conversation the stylist and I hadI sent her a picture of how I wanted my hair to lookIt was much lighter than my natural hair colorWe discussed lightening it little by little because she said she didn't want to risk turning my hair orangeWhich I know that lightening your hair requires time, you can't achieve a much lighter look overnightThe stylist also said many times that she DID in fact use bleach on my hairColor doesn't melt your hair off, bleach melts your hair off The 'free products' I was offered was a nearly empty bottle of its a ten miracle hair mask along with another nearly empty container of conditionerWhen I called her asking if the salon would reimburse me for my hair cut and the damage supplies I had to buy, she assumed I was lying about what I spent on hair products, and asked me to bring in the receiptsThat's exactly what I didI took the receipts to her and then she refused to pay for them after she asked me to take time out of my day to bring them inI bought damage remedy shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioning treatment from ***, and I also bought Moroccan oil and a dry shampooWhich she saw all of the receipts forI did not once use blackmail to get moneyI did nothing wrong by writing a negative reviewEverything I stated was the truthI do not want anyone else to experience what I went through because of this salonThere is no justifying what this stylist did to my hairI have pictures of all of the damage that was done, and the conversation that I had with the stylist before making my appointmentI also, have plenty of witnesses of what this stylist did to my hairI do not feel I once overreacted, anyone that had their hair melted off by someone would want them to pay for the damages they didIf it weren't for this stylist, I would have never had to buy them in the first placeNot to mention, after my hair was melted off I'm obviously not going to trust this person with my hair any longerAfter your hair is as compromised as mine is, the last thing my hair needed was more heatSo yes, after they told me to sit under the dryer even longer, I left

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:I definitely came into the salon on May 11th and showed you the receipts like you requested!! If you need to see them again, here is a copy! Also, like I have previously stated, how am I going to get any use out of almost empty bottles of conditioning treatments??? When my hair will be damaged for at least a year, or until I cut every single strand of hair that your stylist touched, and put bleach on!! I am completely blown away by your awful customer serviceYou are the owner of the salon, so at the end of the day YOU are responsible for your employees and what they do inside of your salon.
Regards,
*** Wentlender

I am responding to the complaint form [redacted], here is a copy of my Independent Contractors License. I am self employed and not an employee of Design Effects. The rules and regulations of an IC can be found on the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology website. I am the person who should of been contacted. Also I am sending a copy of a photo brought to my attention. If her hair was as damaged as stated and would take a year to recover why is she recoloring in only  2 months? This contradicts the complaint of her hair being melted off her head.  I tried to condition your hair as well as cut it , the half empty container was something for you to try others were offered as well. You refused everything and I didn't receive any money from you to refund.          [redacted]

I am responding to the complaint from [redacted] had been to the Stylist, [redacted] two previous times, both she had a dark color applied to her hair. when she sent the stylist of picture of very blonde hair, she was advised of the risk of trying to lighten her colored hair. She...

made an appointment on 5/9/15t to try to go lighter. The stylist weaved a hair lightener into her hair, bleach was not used. After the color was rinsed from her hair I noticed that the client was pulling on her hair and ran into the restroom. I asked the stylist what was the problem and she said while she was trying to comb her hair [redacted] started saying her hair was falling out. I told the stylist to put a conditioner on her and I would finish my client and look at it. A conditioner was applied and [redacted] was put under the hair dryer to process it. The duration time was 20 minutes. Both [redacted] and I proceeded to finish other clients during this wait time. After about 5 minutes into the condition time [redacted] asked how long was she going to be under the dyer, I replied 20 minutes, she told me she needed to leave. I went to check her hair at that point when I lifted the  dryer to do so she pulled away from me. I asked her to please finish the time and give me a chance to see exactly what she felt was wrong with her hair. I went back to my client and [redacted] came to me and said she needed to leave and what did she need to do at home for her hair. Again I told her until I was able to get a look at her hair I wasn't sure and if she left could she get back with me after she calmed down. I offered to supply her with any products she would need along with a haircut. The next time I heard from her was on 5/12/15, she called the salon and informed me that she would give me a chance before she put all over Facebook that we had ruined her hair to pay her $180.00. I asked what had cost her $180.00 and she should be contacting the stylist because [redacted] is self employed. At that point she screams at me, " You ruined my f[redacted]ing hair. I informed her didn't appreciate that language and I would like to see her hair. She came to the Salon later with her Mother. [redacted] told me she wanted $180.00 for the haircut and three products she had purchased at another Salon. I told her that I had offered free products as well as taking care of her complaint I didn't feel I should have to pay that cost. She did not pay for any services at my Salon. Her Mother suggested I give her $45.00 because that it what the haircut cost was. I told them I wasn't comfortable with her threats of Facebook to get money from me and I tried to make things right and she wouldn't let me. She refused to contact the stylist. I called the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology and explained the situation to them, their reply to me was if the stylist is self employed the client should be contacting her and since she left and had someone else work on her hair that we weren't responsible. I also was giving legal advised to not have any contact with her since walked out and went some where else. On 5/15/15 I received a call from a gentleman calling on her behalf asking I pay her $200.00 for the haircut she had received at the other Salon, I told him she had said she paid $45.00 for the haircut why was the cost changing and I didn't like that she felt threatening me with Facebook. He said she knows she was over reacting but I could "make her go away for the $200.00". I told him I wasn't agreeing to anything. I was advised legally to not speak to her because I had tried to take care of things properly and she didn't accept . On 6/9/15 of was alerted by another Salon in the area that she had put a post on Facebook as well as the hair dresser she had cut her hair. This is creating a lot of negative comments toward the stylist not only on a professional level but personally. I am now seeking legal recourse for this situation. Two clients in the Salon at the time of her service has offered a statement of what they observed upon request.
