A leather chair was ordered on Oct. 12, 2016 to match leather sofa. On March 15, 2017 a chair was delivered but was the wrong color. The chair was paid in full, $3336.80. Client advised a replacement chair would be expedited. On June 22, 2017 Designer's associate, Marie e-mailed to advise chair would be delivered before July 4. No chair appeared. On August 18 Designer finally responded saying factory lost order. It took 5 months to ascertain an expedited order was lost.
On September 26 I received an e-mail the chair had been picked up from the manufacturer and would arrive in Vero the following week. Three weeks later, Marie verified color of chair correct and work being done to raise height. Delivery of chair set for Nov. 16. When the still did not arrive, I was told the chair could not be found!
Any reasonable person reviewing this account would find this situation unprofessional and unsatisfactory at every level.

As Founder and President of Design Interiors Intl Inc., I am submitting a statement regarding this complaint.
Although the complaint originated in February 2018, this post to Revdex.com Central Florida has just come to my attention. A call in to Revdex.com Central Florida confirmed that they had sent out communication re: the complaint but as with many other letters, emails and phone calls, the employee whose actions initiated the complaint, managed to intercept any/all communication preventing me from learning about and responding to it.
This key team member and employee entrusted with the follow-up of the chair in question for this client acted incompetently and dishonestly, manipulating our operational systems to prevent her error from being discovered. We are greatly dispirited by her actions and this blemish on our otherwise pristine record over 30 years in the interior design business.
When this grievous incident was brought to light in March 2018, I, at once, reached out personally to the client to extend my apologies and obtain the details of the infraction. The employee was immediately terminated and our company made full compensation to the client and provided all the information she needed to purchase a replacement chair on her own.
Our company was built on a solid foundation of trust and we have thrived by following protocols engaging the highest ethical standards and providing thoughtful care for each client project we have undertaken
Many of our existing clients have been with us from our very humble beginnings in 1988 and they and their referrals have been the foundation for our success so we consider each and every one a vital partner in collaboration and appreciate the part each has played in our growth over the years.
We were alarmed to learn that today's technology enabled the egregious covert actions of this ex-employee and have put stops in place to prevent this from ever happening again.
Please know that this unfortunate incident is not reflective of how Design Interiors operates. and be assured that your projects will continue to receive the highest level of care and attention you have come to expect from us.
