Dear B***, I’m sorry you were not satisfied with your visit A typical A/C system is comprised of many components. When we did your original service back in September of we found that your compressor, expansion valve, and receiver drier needed replacing. These are
the items that are covered under your Fixed Forever Warranty. Unfortunately over time, other components can go bad and this is what happened with your year old evaporator core. There are a few important things to know about air conditioning systems: Air conditioning refrigerant leaks out as a gas or vapor (not a liquid) making it hard to find leaksThe evaporator core is not visible making it even hard to find leaksEvaporators are typically very expensive to replace so we are very cautious to not recommend them unless we are sure there are no other leaks in the systemIn this case, the cycling switch was leakingIt would not be right for us to recommend an expensive repair like the evaporator unless we are sure it is bad. We still want to do what we can to help which is why we’d like to restate our offer of doing the repair at 50% off with no charge for the refrigerant In regard to the cracked dash I can tell you that we are not responsibleThe leak check is done with a tool that sniffs for leaks under the glove box area with no invasive workWe did notice a new windshield was installed which may have something to do with the crack besides the age (years) of the vehicle Please call me if you would like us to helpSincerely, MgrMark C***

MrMark C***, First of all, an offer to fix the car at 50% off labor was never made.Second, why would I have your business work on any vehicle again. I brought my car in for the air conditioner to be fixed. You stated it was the switch, replaced it, evac'd the system, and did a Freon charge. Your repair didn't even last long enough for me to get home. Then when I returned, you stated that now you really checked the system out, performing a leak test and have identified that it will now cost 975. You also stated you had to get in the dash etc. I rejected the repair - and when I returned to pick up my car, my dash was cracked. It cracked while in your possession.I would not trust your place of business to work on my truck again. Who knows what else may be broke in the process of fixing the air conditioner? And it is questionable if the air would really be fixed. What I requested was a refund for the evac and Freon and for the dash, which was cracked while in your possession, to be replaced. Anything else is unsatisfactory. Thanks,Barb S***

Dear B[redacted], Again, I’m sorry you were not satisfied with your visit.   To reiterate our position, with your original A/C service back in September of 2015, we found that your compressor, expansion valve, and receiver drier needed replacing.  These are the items that are covered under your Fixed Forever Warranty.  Unfortunately over time (specifically the 17 months since your air conditioning system was repaired), additional components failed.   This is what happened with your 18 year old evaporator core.    In regard to the cracked dash I will again tell you that we are not responsible. The leak check is done with a tool that sniffs for leaks. See attached photo.  The bendable end of the tool is inserted into an opening in the firewall from under the hood of your vehicle.  Our technician did not go inside the cab area of your vehicle.  Again, we noticed a new windshield was installed, which if the dash wasn’t already cracked considering it’s an 18 year old Dodge Ram 1500 truck, we’re guessing that that service may have had something to do with the crack.   It could also just be that the dashboard of your 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 is prone to cracking.  Here is a link discussing the problem:   [redacted]   Again, we still want to do what we can to help which is why we’d like to restate our offer of doing the repair at 50% off with no charge for the refrigerant.  If you would prefer that some other service company provide the repair, we will refund our cost of the a/c evacuation and recharge at $109.   Please call me if you would like us to help. Sincerely, Mgr. Mark C[redacted]###-###-####
