Designated Driver, Inc. Reviews (2)

[redacted] is seperated into three parts...1. Resident parking, which is assigned numbered spots that must match the number on the residents sticker.  This is the only place that they are allowed to park at this apartment complex2.  Commercial Lot, this is designated for businesses...

and customers only.  No [redacted] resident is allowed to park in this lot at any time.3. [redacted] Apartment complex, which is a designated space close to the commercial lot that is owned by another apartment complex, and only the residents of [redacted] are allowed to park in this lot.We are contracted by both [redacted] and [redacted] to enforce their parking regulations.  [redacted] has detailed instructions that are with the lease stating where their residents are allowed and not allowed to park.  The lot that the complainants daughter parked her vehicle in was the lot of [redacted], which she is not a resident of.  The lots are clearly marked and the rules of [redacted] are clearly stated for each resident to follow.  The complainants daughter was asked towed on 9/20/2017, when her father contacted the [redacted] property manager, she was advised to go to the office the following morning to review their security cameras to see where she was parked, she did not show up to review the footage.  We also have 4 security cameras that are on each of our trucks, which clearly shows that she was parked in the wrong space, which is clearly marked and they are very well aware of [redacted] parking regulations.  Her vehicle was not held by our company, she has the option of picking it up that same evening or the following morning, she did not show up to pick the vehicle up until 9/22/2017 Friday afternoon.  The towing charges were $160.00 ( which is in compliance with the [redacted] City Towing charges and regulations), also there was an additional $80.00 added to the invoice due to 2 days of storage ($40.00 a day storage, this is also in compliance with the [redacted] City Towing charges and regulations), which the total amount that was paid was $240.00.  This is not a bogus charge and the vehicle was not towed illegally.  If you need any type of proof from [redacted] stating that the tenants clearly know where they are supposed to park and where they are not allowed to park, I can provide that as well.  Thank You, [redacted]K.A.R. Towing, LLC.

This is in response to the claim against us from Complaint ID [redacted]:         We towed A Nissan Altima (white) belonging to Mr. [redacted] from Chesnut Ridge Apartment Complex located in Harrisonburg, Va on April 29, 2017 at 10:30 pm.  Mr. [redacted] was in...

a space that requires a guest pass from the apartment complex and did not have a pass to park in the complex.  This is in accordance to our contract with Chesnut Ridge Apartments, those not displaying a proper tenant sticker or guest pass are to be towed from the complex.  We have signs posted at each entrance that towing is enforced.  In response to Mr. [redacted] claim of only parking there for only a half hour, We can not account for the time that the vehicle is parked there, however if it is not in accordance to Chesnut Ridge parking guidelines they are not suppposed to be in the parking lot at all.  We are a 24/7 towing company, which means that our tow trucks are available 24/7, however the office hours are Mon-Fri. 8:30 -5:00, Sat & Sun. (weekend hours for impound pick ups only) 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Mr. [redacted] was given the opportunity to pick up his vehicle for the after hours release fee of $55.00 in addition to the $160.00 tow charge (which meets Harrisonburg City tow regulation guidelines).  Mr. [redacted] continued to call my driver 9 times after his vehicle was towed stated that he wanted his car and he didn't want to pay the release fee for the driver to come back out and release the vehicle.  He was very persistant and very rude to the driver, which told him that he could pick up his vehicle during the weekend office hours the next day at no additional cost. If Mr. [redacted] would of noticed the only negative reviews that he mentioned in his complaint are from people that have had their vehicles impounded for illegally parked vehicles.  It was Mr. [redacted]s responsibility to follow the rules and guidelines of the apartment complex and he did not, so I feel the only person he needs to be upset with is himself.  We are just performing our contractual duties to our complexes and making it so their residents have a place to park.  If you need any additional information please let me know.  Thank you,[redacted]K A R Towing
