Loupe Saver Full Face Shields
DO NOT BUY THESE. They are small, flimsy, and do not stay on. The glue dots do not work and you need to scotch tape the plastic together. You end up looking like a basement scientist. I've had multiple assistants come up to me and ask me if I wanted a real shield. One doctor assumed that I had made the shield myself and when I told her how I paid for them, she couldn't stop laughing. When I requested to return the UNOPENED packages of the remaining "shields" I was told that disposables were not returnable! What a crappy product and company.

Review: I had bought a designs for vision dental loops, light and battery pack in August 2011. Recently my battery pack for the light broke and I had sent my battery pack to loops light to their repair department in New York. I had shipped my battery pack on Tuesday, July [redacted] via UPS which they received on Friday, July [redacted]. I have repeatedly called Designs for visions and have left several voice mails to find out the status on the repair. I have not received any status on when my battery pack will be fixed and the estimate on the repair. I have not even got a chance to talk with a customer representative. The following are the dates and times when I tried to reach them.

Attempt 1) Tuesday, July [redacted], 2014 - 1:13 Pm

Attempt 2) Wednesday, July [redacted], 2014 - 8:45 Am

Attempt 3) Friday, July [redacted], 2014 - 9:53 Am

Attempt 4) Monday, July [redacted], 2014 - 2:05 Pm

I would appreciate if you look into this matter and get this issue resolved for me.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Review: I am currently a dental student who has previously purchased a pair of surgical loupes along with a loupes light from Designs for Vision. My light stopped working a couple months ago due to the connection in the battery pack, and thus was unable to be charged. Personally, I believe it is due to a flaw in the manufacturing of the battery pack since I've talked to multiple other people in my class who are having the same problem with the connection becoming loose to the charger for that light. Our Designs for Vision representative at the school said we could send back both the battery pack and the charger and let the headquarters figure out what is specifically wrong with it, and send me a quote for repairs. When the [redacted] originally emailed me, she first tried to get me to upgrade my light, which is not what I wanted. Also, as a dental student, we receive a student discount, but I was quoted at the prices for a dental professional, including a $165 charge to repair the power pack. I wrote back saying that I did not agree with that price, especially because I'm a student and I believe it's due to a manufacturing flaw. I also asked "are they positive the problem is the battery pack and not the charger? So once the battery pack is repaired, it will be guaranteed to work with the charger I sent as well?", which I never got an answer to. Instead, she told me she talked to her boss and got the authority to do the power pack repair for $75 instead, which is what I agreed to over email. That is the only charge I agreed to and I never even saw a repair authorization or signed anything, she simply told me I could call her over the phone to give her my credit card information which is what I did. Low and behold, I received the package a few days later with a repaired battery pack with a charge of $95.00 which is not what I agreed to, a brand new charger which I never authorized for $42.50, some labor charge for $27.50 that I never authorized and a "freight" charge of $20 which I also never authorized nor did I want it shipped any faster than normal. All of this was charged on my credit card for a total of $193.75, when I was expecting only a $75.00 charge. I tried to call the [redacted] directly yesterday and left a message asking for her to call me back. I also talked to the accounting department who told me they would have to talk to the [redacted]. I have heard nothing from anyone today. I feel duped and I do not like having these unauthorized charges sit on my credit card, and yet I am unable to get in contact with anyone that can help me or is higher up. I'm very disappointed in the service I have received this far from Designs for Vision and will no longer be conducting business with them after this disaster.Desired Settlement: Refund credit card for $118.75
