May 23, Rooter King Plumbing (RK Plumbing) charged us $for an emergency service call involving approximately minutes of snaking the cleanout to the sewer line and less than minutes of using the hydrojet hose in same cleanout and sewer line Total labor time- to minutes Total Service call time approximately to & 1/hours including driving to our house and back to work area to pick up hydrojet hose and returning to our house Total charge- $ The invoice did not contain a breakdown of charges but it did state n/c for camera use We have spent nine days trying to get Rooter King (RK Plumbing) to address the overcharges They have not addressed the overcharges but they have addressed "How expensive their equipment is", "How we should buy a Homeowner maintanence warranty from them", and "How likely that nothing would be returned off the overcharge if we went to the Tucson Revdex.com."

Easy money! RK Plumbing was sent to my home by 2-Warranty to service my water heater Upon arrival the service man was told that he was dealing with a year old water heater that was making grinding sounds when heating water Some of the sounds were pretty extreme He was also told that the water coming from the heater had an odor to it The guy looked at the water heater, told us that there were a number of code issues that would need to be addressed and ran the water for about five minutes (it's a gallon tank) He could not replicate the problem He went outside to talk to the warranty company Before he came back in I had a call from the warranty company telling me my claim was denied because the problem had not occurred in the few minutes the guy was thereHe never discussed possible causes or other actions that he could take Got his $and was done Easy money! I kicked him out of the house

RK Plumbing was sent out by our home warranty company, 2-Home Warranty, to unstop a sluggish drain After their first visit, they told me the bathroom had been remodeled and the t valve between the tub and shower were improperly installed The fix would be to remove the tub and jack hammer out the floor to fix at a cost of $or more When they left, the drain went from being sluggish to taking hours to drain We had them come back again, try to snake the drain again with the same result, only the drain became completely stopped up The home warranty company denied the claim to fix the problem based on RK Plumbing's diagnosis of improper installation
We had another plumber come out today They were able to snake the drain from the roof, which RK said couldn't be done They also did a video inspection of the plumbing and found there was nothing wrong with the plumbing
I feel RK Plumbing was trying to dupe me into paying for unnecessary repairs

Our experience with Rooter Kings has been very good. They originally came out for an insurance claim repair. The technician came out on Super Bowl Sunday and there was no emergency call charge. So we called them again on a Sunday and the technician, [redacted] stayed twice as long as he had expected until we were able to turn on the water on for the originally quoted price. We had to call him back the next day because his first repair exposed extremely high pressure from city water and he was able to replace another faulty valve.
We had been using another plumbing company for about 20 years and service had gone down. We are glad to have a new plumbing company. We will be requesting [redacted] again.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. First off referred by 2-10 warranty company only to find out that the warranty will not cover a sewer cleaning. What? When all the drains in the whole house are backed up then it is safe to assume that the property needs to have the sewer line cleaned out. Bottomline was that we paid $300 to have the sewer line snaked out and have a backwater valve replaced and the warranty company did not cover ANY OF IT! That made the decision to cancel the warranty easy...but the drains started backing up the next week. Called up RK and they came back out. Used a camera this time (not sure why this wasn't done the first time) and they determined that we need to have a Hydro Scrub cleaning done of our sewer lines. That will cost $2500!!! Are you kidding me...move along. nothing to see here. These folks are predatory as others have noted. Do not use them. You have been warned.

Technician collected home warranty service fee without providing any service to remedy the problem. Also raised concerns of unethical conduct. This appears to be a trend with this business from the previous complaint filed in November of 2014.
Late in the evening on 12/28/14 we noticed water dripping from a light fixture on the first floor. We surmised it must be from the upstairs bathroom directly above. We pretty well eliminated the sink and bathtub, likely leaving the toilet to be the issue. We stopped using the toilet in that bathroom and the dripping stopped shortly thereafter. I removed the trim around the canister light on the first floor ceiling and allowed the remaining clear water to drain. My wife called the home warranty company at 8am on the morning of 12/29/14 to address a leaking toilet. She had to finally make contact with RK herself at 1030am because no one had called her. She was told the technician would be out on 12/30/14, the next day, between 2 and 6pm. When no contact had been made by 530pm on 12/30/14, my wife called again to see if someone was coming. She was told the technician was running an hour behind and asked if she still wanted them to come, to which she replied to the affirmative. The technician arrived about 630pm, looked at the upstairs bathroom, told my wife it was "dirty" water, the downstairs ceiling was saturated with feces and he couldn't do anything until a restoration company had been out to remediate the issue. He told my wife he would call a restoration company and have them call her. I arrived home shortly before the restoration company representative rang the doorbell at about 730pm. He proceeded to do his inspection and inform me that there was damage to the drywall, baseboard and sub floor in the upstairs bathroom which would require taking up the bathroom tile and replacing some drywall. Below, the affected area of the ceiling would have to be removed, the remaining structure decontaminated and then everything repaired. Please keep in mind, up to now, no one has definitively determined what is causing the damage and nothing has been done to prevent it from continuing. At this point the restoration company representative informs me all I have to do is start a claim with my homeowner's insurance, pay my deductible and they'll complete the work for whatever the insurance company pays. There was no bid or estimate provided for the job. I thanked him for his time and told him I'd contact the insurance company the following morning on 12/31/14. After contacting my insurance company on the morning of 12/31/14, I was encouraged to get a second opinion. Interestingly, the same technician from RK showed up unannounced about 11am on 12/31/14 to see if the tear out was completed. My wife informed him that nothing had been done and he left. A second company came on 1/1/15 to bid the job and explained it wasn't a "dirty" water issue and required nothing more than a couple of fans, which he offered at no charge, and some cosmetic touch up paint to repair the damage on the downstairs ceiling. I tried to address my concerns to RK directly. I explained the whole referral process I'd witnessed appeared at the very least to be predatory and unethical, at the worst, criminal. I expressed concern that the technician's comments, aside from being inaccurate, were inflammatory and were perpetuated by the restoration company the technician put in touch with us. I wanted to know if the company was aware and encouraged this behavior, or if it was being undertaken by the technician on his own. The person I spoke to identified them self as a manager, however, would have to refer the issue to a field manager. I was told that 1/2/15 would be the earliest I could expect a response. I explained that I would be unavailable until 7pm, to which he replied that a callback that late would be unlikely. At that point, I explained my only recourse would be complaints through the home warranty company and the Revdex.com. There was nothing but indifference on the part of RK's representative at that point.

May 23, 2015 Rooter King Plumbing (RK Plumbing) charged us $1200.00 for an emergency service call involving approximately 5 minutes of snaking the cleanout to the sewer line and less than 5 minutes of using the hydrojet hose in same cleanout and sewer line. Total labor time- 10 to 20 minutes. Total Service call time approximately 2 to 2 & 1/2 hours including driving to our house and back to work area to pick up hydrojet hose and returning to our house. Total charge- $1200.00. The invoice did not contain a breakdown of charges but it did state n/c for camera use. We have spent nine days trying to get Rooter King (RK Plumbing) to address the overcharges. They have not addressed the overcharges but they have addressed "How expensive their equipment is", "How we should buy a Homeowner maintanence warranty from them", and "How likely that nothing would be returned off the overcharge if we went to the Tucson Revdex.com."
