Desired Image Reviews (1)

To Whom It May Concern,
In regards to complaint ID [redacted], I am responding to the complainant [redacted], her complaint has been filed against a self-employed stylist that is currently not under a contract,...

in a booth rental arrangement with [redacted] of Desired Image Salon, in Fort Stockton Texas. I began working in this salon the 3rd week of January. New to the Fort Stockton area since October I was looking to continue my career in a new state.
On January 16th 2014, I was contacted by the complainant [redacted] at the salon. She asked for a stylist that could attend to her wishes as soon as possible, I then booked her appointment for the following evening Friday January 17th at 7 p.m. I then proceeded to take her personal info in-case I needed to contact her, she then described her hair and what she was wanting. I then sent [redacted] a text message later the same evening asking if she had a picture of the color that she wanted and she then sent me a few pictures. We then met at the salon the following evening, when she sat in my chair we had great conversation and got to the bottom of what she really wanted from her hair. being a experienced professional stylist I recommended starting with heavy highlights on the top and adding dark low lights to the bottom to give the contrast that all of her pictures insinuated. I did not recommend lightening the entire top of her head like she had originally thought she wanted, I explained to her that it could potentially damage her hair. She took my advice and we continued the process, We talked and shared stories the whole time, and when she had been sitting under the dryer the maximum amount of time and her hair was not lifting to the desired color,I made the professional decision to then rinse her hair and use a toner, the toner did not lift the brass/orange areas out of her bang and crown. I then cut her hair and while cutting it I gave her my advice of taking home a toning shampoo to use for a few days,to refrain from using heat on it and let her hair repair it self from the lightening process. She loved the color, other than the brass/orange areas and the cut, she then paid the $85 and handed me a $100 bill and told me to keep it. We scheduled for the following Tuesday evening at 5:30 to correct the brass/orange areas.
On Saturday January 18th at 4:24 p.m complainant  [redacted] sent me a text message telling me that the toning shampoo had not worked, which I knew it would not after only one application. It is going to take lightening it to lift the brass/orange areas to blonde. While she is texting me this evening I am out of town in a no cell service area, I receive them all at one time later that evening. She then sent a text at 4:42 p.m asking if her hair was going to continue to fall out if she brushed it, at 4:42 p.m she text me telling me that she had decided that she wanted to go blonde on the entire top section of her hair. Proceeding those text, at 7:02 p.m she sent me a text message insisting that she wanted to now have her hair a dark brown color all over to cover all the blonde that was in her hair. I then sent her a text back telling her if that is what she really wanted other than giving me the chance to finish what I had originally started, then I would but I would have to charge her an additional price due to when she left my chair she was a happy and understanding client, $65 for an all over color for the length of her hair is not unreasonable, she then told me that she was going to go else where to have it "dyed",she said she knew it was not my fault but she appreciated it. I replyed back with an "Okay" and "Good Luck".
On Sunday January 19th at 7:43 p.m [redacted] sent me a text message stating that she had went to another salon to have her hair colored brown all over for $80 and then had to go elsewhere for a $50 treatment to repair her hair,so that she could look okay or school. She then asked for a full refund,I have all of these text upon request,if you would like to see them I can forward them in email, but it came down to her telling me that if I did not refund her money that she was going to file a complaint against me with you,the Revdex.com and the Texas State Board Of Cosmetology,She then proceeded to tell me that the salon [redacted] of where she had her hair colored at was insisting that she make a complaint to the salon [redacted] ([redacted]) where I rent a booth,I did not respond to her that evening even tho she told me that if I did not respond to her that evening she would be taking actions further and she supposedly didnt suggest that I let that happen. That Sunday evening after reading the 19 text that [redacted] sent I contacted the salon [redacted] of Desired Image, Where I rent a booth, and asked if she would meet with me to discuss the matter.
I then met with [redacted] the next morning to let her read through all of the text sent from [redacted],after telling her what I had done to her hair and what needed to be done to fix it she agreed with me,and then asked me if I had seen anything that [redacted] had posted on [redacted] over the weekend, which I had not,she then proceeded to read to me some of the slander that [redacted] had posted on [redacted] about me. [redacted] agreed with me when I told her that I spent 4 hours on her hair, trying to cater to her wishes, but that the only refund that would be given was a refund for product used, not time spent working. I then sent [redacted] a text telling her that I had just had a meeting with [redacted],and what refund I would be giving her.and that I would like to see a receipt from the other salon where she got her hair colored at. she refused and then told me via text to not text her or call her phone ever again.I then took her advice and did not respond, I feel that [redacted]  was over emotional about her hair in the first place, that's why she kept changing her mind,I have been doing hair for 10 years and in the business my entire life, I know people and I also know that there are some people that you will never make happy no matter what you offer them. The town we live in is a very small town so I feel that when she took to [redacted] to express her emotions she was putting my career on the line, I do not appreciate that, it was slander and one sided. To this day I have not contacted or been contacted in any way by [redacted],but if she would still like her refund for product used,I can schedule a time that she can pick up the $25 at the salon from [redacted]. Also I would greatly appreciate if the Revdex.com would contact me PERSONALLY if you need anything,I am self employed and the [redacted] of  Desired Image has no final say in the issue.
Thank You
[redacted]
