Desiron

Review: Purchased at Desiron SoHo, on 8/**/07. Invoice #[redacted]. 6 Turner chairs, dark walnut, upholstered. Paid: $4299.80 Since purchase, the chairs were used not more than once a month. They were not in direct sunlight, and the home is well air conditioned. In August 2011 I noticed creases and tears showing up at the seams and seat pressure points, the severity of the decaying of the material increased to the point where the seats had huge rips visible on all sides, and were unusable. Based on the reputation of Desiron and the quality of the materials they used, this defected was unexpected. I have detailed photos of the huge tears in all six chairs. I contacted Desiron SoHo in April, 2013, but was told that Desiron was not able to offer a refund or other compensation for the defective material. To continue using the chairs I had to have them reupholstered at my own cost in May 2013. They were reupholstered by J&H in Freehold, NJ, and they indicated that the vinyl separated from the backing. I have correspondence from J&H which reads: "We recently reupholstered your chairs. Upon inspection of the vinyl we removed, we noticed separation of the vinyl from the backing. In our professional opinion, that should not have happened. This is not caused by the normal wear and tear incurred by use. This would be caused by a defect in the vinyl." I noticed on the Desiron website that this material is not carried anymore.Desired Settlement: I would like a check for $1,187 to reimburse me for the expense of reupholstering the chairs. I have a receipt from J&H detailing the repair and cost. Desiron markets their products as well made with quality materials, and charges accordingly. I trust that Desiron will make amends for selling a defective material.
