Prior to a service I contacted the office to find out the cost so I could decide whether or not I would have to service or not. I was told by the lady who answered the phone that my procedure would be paid 100 percent by my insurance so I went ahead with the procedure. As it turns out my insurance would not pay any part of the procedure cost and Desoto Imaging refuses to do anything about the misinformation I was given. IN THEIR PATIENT RIGHTS STATEMENTS IS STATES THAT A PATIENT HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE COST OF A PROCEDURE......THIS WAS VIOLATED IN MY CASE.Desired SettlementMy bill should either be written off or deeply discounted due to their negligence.Business Response Federal Law prohibits us from discussing patient information without prior patient approval. However I can discuss our policy. We verify (precert)almost all cases prior to providing service. The information on deductibles, co-pay or any other patient responsibility comes from our verification of benefits with the insurance companies. In some cases the information we get is erroneous. We have forms that patients sign that explain our procedure and that costs are estimates based on the information we get from the insurance companies and that the patient is ultimately responsible for any costs.
