The vehicle was dropped off with the instructions being "get it running"After diagnosis it was determined that the aftermarket remote start that was installed on the vehicle was
causing the issueThe set of keys and fob that were left with the vehicle did not even have a remote start option on themWe did not know that they were even using the remote startIn order for us to repair the vehicle per their instructions it was required that we remove the remote starterWe what we were instructed to do with the information that we hadWe were also informed at piof the vehicle that one of the individuals brother-in-laws had looked/worked on prior to bringing it in to usWe were not told to call them with any diagnosis or let them know what the issue wasWe were only told to "get it running/working"Not sure of the exact verbiageI hope that this helps you in your review of this complaintWe do not feel that we did anything wrong given the directions that we were given

The conversation between Engle road auto and I was "My brother in law, (who is a mechanic but did not have time to look at it fully), said he thought it was in the wiring harness, and suggested we take it to a shop to find the exact nature of the problem, he did no work on the vehicle other than removing the bottom of the dash below the steering column."
At no time did I say just "Get it running" I dropped it off for him them to find the issue which I was told it probably was an "Ignition Switch"
At the time it wasn't the ignition switch I feel a phone call was in order to inform me of the real issue, a standard practice at any shop that I and others get at any dealership when the issue is not what is thought to beAt which time I could have called or taken the vehicle to Ziebart where I had the starter installed with the "life time warranty" which was voided when they removed it with out my authorization
Ziebart informed me that they could have told them how to disable the starter or sent a Service Tech to their shop to disable it and get it running until they could fix the issue
I still believe Engle road auto still is responsible for all costs involved in this matter
