Ok May 28,I made a $1,deposit to rent a home for a Florida family vacation for May12-19,The property was sold to management Blue and Reese [redacted] emailed me that 'the house had been sold and all of our reservations and deposits would be forwarded over to them.? She had cancelled the reservations on her books but Blue would be in touchActually we found out the property was give to Blue six months ago and the house we rented is now rented to someone elseMrs [redacted] contacted Blue and told them she refuse to return them or us the depositShe will not answer our phone calls or return emailsI have all the documentation from her if you need itThis has been handled very poorly and therefore I am reporting her business

First let me start by saying I'm a travel professional with 30+ years of experience so I tend to be more critical as I take great responsibility for my clients vacation time and money I used DMG in for a personal vacation on a Destin rental The unit was very nice and the price was good which allowed me to overlook other issues that would "bug" me For example, having to ask a question multiple times before getting a clear concise answer or mixing up the FOBs of her units which affected our beach service Fast forward to 2018, I have a client (and family member) who I refer to DMG/Reese After agreeing to her contract and paying in full, Reese contacts the client by email weeks prior to arrival informing them there was a sewage pipe break in a unit above theirs and now she is unable to rent the unit She informs them she can refund the money or find an alternate location
PROBLEM When a vacation management company cancels a reservation that has been booked for months and paid in full you do not hide behind an email A situation like this warrants a phone call PERIOD
PROBLEM Although DMG/Reese states she will find another unit, repeated inquires by my clients and I as to where these units are located and how much more are ignored PROBLEM DMG/Reese tells my client what a "Nightmare" this is for her and her owners My client is not interested in her nightmare as he now has his own nightmare to address
Emails by me inquiring who is responsible for the unit that created this problem, relocation and compensation were responded to in an evasive and unprofessional manner After advising DMG/Reese that we will be holding her responsible for any additional costs to the client if she is unwilling to assist with a solution results in an email that "she does not take kindly to threats....good night." These are not threats This is business DMG/Reese entered into a contract and received payment which holds a responsibility to the customer to come up with a solution no matter who created the circumstances The following day, the clients gets a form letter email that his payment was refunded No phone call/no assistance/no apology I am now working with other vacation rental management companies to find an alternate location and negotiate a price as close to what was paid for the DMG unit My experience over the years is that you need to be selective with the vacation vendors you choose realizing that it's not just about the product and price they offer but how well they handle problem situations After this experience, you can cross DMG/Reese off the list Owners and renters should consider finding another management company
