We rented a condo with them and when we arrived to said condo it was filthy. So much so, that we left 2 days early. The company is doing NOTHING.
Sheets hadn't been changed from the previous guests. The floors were black they were so filthy. There was black mold in the shower. We left 2 days early and had to pay hundreds of dollars to change our flight, so when we contacted them and asked for a refund they rejected our request and didn't offer to refund us anything at all. We paid for 5 nights and stayed for 2. It is only right that we received money back because we were completely hoodwinked.

Desired Outcome

We are asking for a refund of $250-$300

We inspect all of our units just prior to arrival. This unit was inspected and found to be clean. We provide a 24/7 number to call when guests are in residence. This guest never called during his stay. We would have been happy to come and mop the floors if they had requested it. We would have had the linen replaced. We would have brought additional towels upon request. In other words, done whatever was necessary to keep the guest happy. We never got a call or a complaint. The guest left early. It might have been raining... who knows.... To complain a week later to get a refund is clearly not going to happen. Please let him know that we stand firm on our position.

Boy, you're a disgusting bunch aren't you? First of all, the unit we payed so much money for should have been cleaned IN THE FIRST PLACE. Completely unacceptable. In fact, the state that condo was in was a health hazard. I laid a towel on the floor so my 16 month old wouldn't be walking/touching the filthy floors... and once I picked my towel up, I found half of a ROACH. I have already reported you to the department of health. Second of all, we left because my husband fell ill and we were so incredibly upset and disturbed by the state of the condo that really there wasn't any other option but to leave. We called you the day we flew back home, so you need to get your facts straight. Also, I can't believe you all had the AUDACITY to make us pay postage to mail us back the clothing items my husband left behind. Are you kidding me? Judging by the other reviews, I'm not surprised we aren't the only ones who have had a horrible experience here. To say we are completely disgusted is an understatement. Our attorney doesn't think you're worth our time, or else we'd be pursuing this further. I will continue with leaving my open and honest review about your nightmarish business practices and our horrific experience with you all.

I would like to give this company less than a star rating. I have always traveled first class, and was promised by the agent representing this property that the unit leased to me would be my perfect choice. It was beachfront and a penthouse with only one other unit which was not close.

THAT WAS HORRIBLY WRONG!! It was outdated and smelled like a combination of mold and cigarettes. There is no one to talk to onsite, so I called the agent and told her how disappointed I was in the property. I complained about the smell and she just told me that the unit had been cleaned. I was very upset to travel a great distance and not have a place to stay.

I would highly recommend that anyone considering this property to look elsewhere. The photos on the website of the beach are not even similar to this property.

I will try and respond to this very unfair review with facts and leave the emotions out of it. Back in June of 2018, in the height of the season, Ms. walked into one of our best beachfront unit and immediately called the Unit Manager to complain that it "smelled like smoke". Within 30 minutes, we sent a cleaning crew. Our units are all "non-smoking" so we were obviously concerned. No one but Ms. could smell anything. She then proceeded to complain about every aspect of the unit which was shocking since our VRBO reviews are generally all 5 STARS. We did our best to try to satisfy her. I personally, as the owner at the time, called her but she hung up on me. Her son then called me back; a perfect gentleman. He was very kind and explained that his mother had "other issues" and to please not worry too much. We very much appreciated the call. We opened the dates and tried to rebook but could not. We wrote and mailed Ms. a check for the clean and tax on the clean since the unit had not been occupied. I am not sure why it took Ms. almost 7 months to write a negative review to the Revdex.com. We did our best to try and please her.

There was no attempt to satisfy me at all. The owner did not contact me at all. My son, at the time, was also upset about the poor treatment and complained. He asked that my family be moved to another unit. I am very allergic to smoke and mold, and offered a letter from my doctor. This was ignored. The lease dates were not opened as indicated.Why would they? The unit was paid in full. I can not believe the unit could not be leased. I did have "issues" as they claim that I had confided in the leasing agent. My husband had suffered a stroke and also suffered a traumatic brain injury. This left him incapacitated . He spent a year in Neuro Recovery and passed away. That was the reason in the delay in reporting my negative review.
This explains my "personal circumstances." The agent assured me that I would love the unit which was on the top floor without any noise for the retreat I really needed when I initially leased. I was told after viewing the property that all I would be returned to me was the cleaning fee and informed me that if she sent my request for a refund to her superiors, that they would not be as nice as her. So sad to me that I was taken advantage of under the circumstances, just so her commission could be achieved. Too bad that there was no consideration at all for a refund, which in regret, was signed before viewing the property. I was forced to lease a unit at another resort. They were also leasing during the "peak time of the year".

Deserves a ZERO!

Hurricane Michael arrived the day before we were to arrive for our vacation. Tania *** the owner of Destin Memories and Denise both evacuated themselves. Denise told me in text, when they were safe and returned themselves their accountant Maria would send us a refund check as their contract states if there is a mandatory evacuation we WILL get all our money back. I have texts from Denise stating so as well. Tania *** the owner took it upon herself to keep all the money and conveniently "sold" the unit. Tania *** is the owner and is most unprofessional person. Do not use this company unless you want to be scammed. This seems to be a repeated behavior. She has terrible reviews on google as well. Disgraceful

This is Tania ***, the owner of Destin Memories. I am responding to set the record straight. I have volumes of emails *** and I have exchanged to support my side of this story. Hurricane Michael hit our area on October 10 at 11:00 AM. We did evacuate as it was a mandatory evacuation. Fortunately, our area was not damaged by the hurricane and we returned on the 12th. I immediately emailed and called Lowell to let him know that we were opened for business as his arrival was not scheduled for another couple of days. His response was that they no longer wanted to take the trip and that he expected a full refund of his monies. I explained that I could not do that since the mandatory evacuation did not impact him in any way. He got belligerent and threatening. To keep the peace, I offered him to rebook within the same calendar year but to let me know ASAP. I never heard back from him until last week. He wanted to book in April. I explained that I was sorry but that I had sold my unit in November and that the monies had been disbursed since he never got back to me. He got very belligerent again threatening to sue me and tarnish my name. It is truly sad to see the extent to which people will go to lie and damage one's reputation. I invite anyone to google me or the company. I have EXCELLENT reviews and what is disgraceful is his attitude. I will not respond any further to his threats.

Clearly Tania *** is confused on whom she is having issues with. *** is my father and yes she offered him a credit to come in October of the following year 2019. *** accepted her offer on another unit and I hope Tania *** would follow though on one thing she speaks. Eric and Kim were to come the day before the Hurricane and Denise told us.. Tania and her were actually in route out of Florida due to her own safety. Denise stated to Eric and I to send and email and cancel and when everyone was safe and back in the office Maria their accountant, would send us a check with a full refund due to "Manadatory Evacuation" which is stated in their contract. So Tania *** failed to do so and at this juncture we are in the process of having to sue her. This is about principle.. If you run a business Tania *** needs to run it as her contracts states. Sadly Tania is going to lose more money paying for her attorney and ours as well, instead of doing the right thing and refunding customers their money due to a Mandatory evacuation from a Hurricane!!
