To Whom It May Concern: We are writing today in response to Mr***’ claim that the wood supporting the Trex deck is rotting and should be replaced under the terms of his one year limited warranty agreementMr [redacted] closed 7/11/ As a courtesy, on May 22, 2017, our Warranty Field Representative met with Mr [redacted] to take a look at his concerns of the wood under his Trex deck It was determined that a sprinkler system had been installed right under the deck As a result, there is a continual run of water penetrating the wood that is holding up the deck Since the sprinkler system was installed by Mr [redacted] and not Destination Homes, our Warranty Field Representative suggested that the homeowner replace the sprinkler system with a drip system in the flower beds along the deck and replace the affected wood that has rotted due to the constant water exposure Given the decaying wood was caused by homeowner failure to prevent the continuous run of a sprinkler system onto the wood elements of the deck, repair or replace of the deck framing is considered homeowner maintenanceIn regards to Mr***’ other claim that items have not been completed, we performed his one year anniversary visit on July 2nd, 2015, and all items on the list were completed A year later, outside of our one year warranty obligation, on July 5, 2016, Mr [redacted] contacted the warranty department stating that some items were still outstanding As a courtesy, the Warranty Field Representative performed a subsequent anniversary visit on July 19th, even though we were not obligated to perform any further warranty work outside of his one year limited warranty In both instances all items were completedDestination Homes prides itself on providing exceptional customer service to its homeowners We appreciate your attention in this matterPlease don’t hesitate to contact us with any further questions
