I am rejecting Destination Weddings response and I will be taking them to Small Claims Court and let a judge tell me that they should not give me a refundBy their own admission, I did try to send them a notification but it bounced back because I made a mistake in the e-mail addressAs I said, I was in the hospital with heart failure and I have documentation to prove itI was heavily medicated when I attempted to contact themI have been in the hospital many times after my October admission to the hospitalI was lucky to be able to make an attempt to notify themAfter my attempt to contact them I was far too sick and too medicated to follow upIf a judge tells me no refund is due based on the circumstances and the fact that I made a good faith attempt to notify them, then I will accept that and be satisfiedUntil I get my day in court I will continue to pursue this

Destination Weddings has been in contact with Mr*** regarding his situationWe regret this is not the outcome he desired, however we made every effort on our end to and explored all potential resolution options.As Mr*** noted, neither he nor *** ***, the other passenger in
his room with the ability to cancel the reservation, did not properly communicate their request to cancel their trip prior to their scheduled departure time. We do understand they had meant to email their Wedding Specialist, *** ***, the morning of the trip, however, misspelled his email addressAs there was no immediate follow up to the undelivered email and the cancellation phone number provided was not utilized, the cancellation notification was not received.For Cancel for Any Reason pre-departure coverage to be enacted, notification must be received prior to the passengers scheduled trip departure by any passenger on the reservationPassengers are advised to contact their travel agent, or there is a hour phone number provided in the insurance policy details on Pages & 7, reiterated on Pages & of the travel documents provided to *** and *** ***A copy is attached.As the Cancel for Any Reason pre- departure cancellation notification was not received prior to departure and the post travel protection does not cover hospitalization prior to travel, the insurance claim has been deniedAt this time, we have exhausted all options with Berkley Insurance and Travel Impressions on behalf of the travelers and no refund will be processed. We do regret this outcome, however multiple avenues for notifying of trip cancellation prior to departure were disclosed to *** and *** *** and were not properly utilized by the travelers

We have provided proof of documentation regarding the full insurance policy and coverage details presented to the customers prior to finalizing their reservation and choosing to purchase the insuranceThey were made aware of all coverage details, for both pre and post travel, including phone numbers for any questions or clarification neededAll travelers are personally responsible to travel with valid, accurate and appropriate documentation that meets the standards and requirements set forth by the any applicable country's government travel regulationsDestination Weddings does not have influence or participation in the decisions made by any customs or immigration agencyWe regret this is not the outcome desired, however all applicable information was presented to the customers ahead of their trip

We regret Mr*** is not satisfied with attempts we made to resolve this situation on his behalfThe information and facts we have presented support our position and show the proper steps to cancel and utilize the trip protection insurance were not followed by either *** or *** ***, both authorized passengers on the reservationWe will present these facts again, if necessary

On multiple occasions the business has asserted that the cost difference they were charging my guests was due to the room type: Premium access versus standard access. This is not true. On the resort website, the difference between these two room categories is $per night, per person. The difference my guests were charged was $- $for a 3-night stay. This is in no way comparable to the actual cost differential of a premium versus standard room. The spirit of “travel insurance” is to ensure that a guest is reimbursed for their travel should they be unable to travel due to any reason. The spirit of travel insurance is not to ensure the company makes money should the guest find that they have been grossly overcharged for their room and choose to book elsewhere. Beyond that, when researching, I discovered that travel insurance is completely unnecessary and simply one more way for Destination Weddings to charge customers needlessly. Many of my guests rebooked their rooms and were not charged travel insurance because their rooms were fully refundable up to one month before travel. This discovery simply adds insult to injuryThe company advertises themselves as an “advocate” for their customers and their guests, but this has been very far from the case. I would hope that they would work with me and my guests in good faith to remedy this situation to our mutual satisfaction. ***

It has now been business days since I first established contact with Destination Weddings regarding cancellation of the tripHow is it taking this long to establish contact with the vendor and receive a reply? Also, I did not know it was necessary to purchase travel insurance in the case of a disease epidemic with government agencies advising those at risk to not travelDo better by your customers and make this process as easy as it was with the airline I purchased the flight with.

Dear; Destination wedding travel, you have failed to recognize your mistakes to me and to many other customers who have made complaints against you. You are at fault. If you want to keep framing other that is your choice but be aware of this practice some day is going to catch up to you for defrauding many customers. You may want to negate all you want but in the end you now this is true and the facts are there you are falsely advertising an insurance that states and I quote "CANCEL FOR ANY REASON" policy. You are telling every customer not to worry buy this insurance worry free because you can cancel for any reason.Continue to take my money if this is what you want but this money is not yours and this is stealing. This money does not belong to you. The facts are there and I have given the Revdex.com proof of this scam you are playing to every customer. advised and directed to the information made available on the US State Department's travel website within their travel documents. Please see page 2 of the attached travel documents provided to Mr. [redacted] and Mrs. [redacted]. All passengers are provided with the complete travel protection insurance policy plan, which details what is covered for both pre and post departure, so they can make an informed decision when purchasing trip protection insurance. This information is provided on our website booking page, prior to the customers submitting their room reservation request. Our website also clarifies the Cancel for any Reason coverage is noted as "prior to your originally scheduled departure time." Please see the attached screenshot in which this information is detailed and the link provided. Also attached is a copy of the trip protection insurance policy.Destination Weddings is not able to influence or control the decision made by any government or customs agency. We regret they were not able to complete their trip, however all relevant information was provided to the passengers to advise of their responsibility to ensure proper travel documentation was with them during their trip, along with the information prior to purchasing trip protection insurance.

This company is not taking FULL responsible of their actions and the financial burden it has create for me and paying for my wedding.  What should be the happiest time in my life is now a painful nightmare. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

First, we apologize for any frustration this issue has caused, as this certainly is not our intent. Please know at no point in time were lies conveyed to our clients, as the lowest room categories were not available at the resort when they began working with Destination Weddings Travel Group....

Instead, a higher room category was booked at a higher price, thus when guests began seeing lower pricing for the lower room categories through third party vendors, the rates did not match as the room categories were not comparable. When Destination Weddings Travel Group approached the resort to obtain the lower room categories, the resort informed these rooms were not available, thus guests were not able to change room categories. It was at this time some guests decided to cancel their room with Destination Weddings. As stated on our Credit Card Authorization Forms and Invoices, insurance is non-refundable after purchase.

Travel protection insurance is to protect travelers in the event of any unplanned situation and is offered to every passenger who books through Destination Weddings. Despite the decision of the travelers not to protect their travel investment and purchase the protection insurance, Destination Weddings was able to obtain an exception on their behalf and a refund has been submitted to the original credit card the trip was charged to.

Destination Weddings has been in communication with [redacted] as well as the resort in order to come to a mutual resolution and will continue to do so.

Trip protection insurance is offered to every passenger who books with Destination Weddings to protect the passenger's travel investment. Had the trip protection insurance option been accepted and purchased, the reason for cancellation would have been covered and a refund issued immediately.
