Consumer, [redacted] /Complaint against Business-Details Fabulous Interiors 1. We were told by [redacted] that her husband [redacted] would save us a lot of money by building the vanity himself. Why would we make this statement up.2.We prepaid for the original vanity1860.00 which included 85.00 for installation, granite allowance of 625.00, plus tax of 100.00. The vanity we ended up buying was 1029.00 with a marble top included. We requested a refund of 710.00 and the [redacted] s said they would refund us 376.60.3. They did not take delivery or nor inspect the first vanity.5.We will accept their offer of 376.60 in order to close this complaint. We do not know or understand the 157.94 they are talking about and they did not design our house. It was one full bath and 1/2 bath. [redacted]

1.) Details never advised the party that *** made vanities himself. We are a who***ler for several cabinet suppliers2.) The vanity design and color was approved by the party. We ate the cost and supplied another vanity3.) We cannot compete with online retailers for vanitys,
etc. We take delivery, inspect, and deliver to the client. We also have time involved in the selection of merchandise, order processing, etc4.) The headboard was priced at retail. *** *** is a large furniture retailer and their pricing is always less. Again our time in the selection process, etchas value. If someone called Details on the phone to order furniture with no time involved our pricing is always competitive. 5.) The refund we offered of $is acceptable. Client still has a balance of $157.94. The total is more than the $requestedWe are a design firm and supplier. We do have clients who use our time to design the home, select furnishings, etc. Then shop us on line for better value. We do not believe this is an honerable way of doing business. If this is their mindset they should never have contracted with Details in the first place. Obviously the *** do not value or understand the time spent in designing their homeThere are other issues with the client which I am sure caused a lack of understanding of the process*** *** Details Design Group 502-***

Btter Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action of sending their offer of 376.60 and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However, the 157.94 balance on the shower curtain was paid in full in September in the amount of 682.00. On the same invoice, we paid 410.00 for a bench cushion for a total including tax of 1157.52.
