We contacted Details Renovations in August for a quote on our deck. August 8, an estimate was sent to us in the amount of $3641.29. We accepted this amount & made first payment of $1798 to them. The crew showed up on August 9 to begin the demolition of the old deck.August 10 - they advised us that there were structural issues with deck and that it would cost an extra $400 above the quote to fix. August 12, asked for the second payment of $1172 after only a few days & only a few hours of work done. At this point, the structural issues were fixed. We paid the $1172 because we wanted the job to continue.August 13, said he picked up our stain, which we have not seen to this date.August 14, they put membrane around the house to waterproof it a bit better. This was done on their decision, with no discussion on added costs. He stated he felt better doing it for a family that needed itAugust 17, they claimed a flat on their trailer and did not showAugust 18, asked for an added $520 above the original quote for odds/ends and a new privacy fence panel. August 24, claimed they would complete the job. They did not. We paid another $140 above quote for hardware + $300 from the original quote to him.August 27, said he would finish & didnt come at all claiming he had personal issues to resolve.August 30, they would not come to the job site until we paid them more money. We gave them the rest owing ($371.00) & they said they would finish that day. They did not, and haven't been back since.I have tried all September to get him to come out and he has refused to show. My wife contacted him & he [redacted] actually pointed out structural issues, which we discussed and thats where he added more money to the bill. [redacted]. We paid $1000 in additional costs to cover the surprises. We have paid the amount owing in FULL plus more. [redacted]Desired SettlementI want a refund of $371.00 (the final payment) + $175 for the stain that we paid for that was not provided. I also want another $100 for disposal of the debris that they stated they would remove and have not, which we will also need to hire someone else to do. That is only fair considering we will need to complete the project ourselves, or hire another company to do so, which will require more material, stain and labor. Total $646.00.
