Devon Hill Motors

Review: I purchased a certified pre-owned BMW X5 in September of 2012. At the time of the purchase the salesman indicated this car would come fully covered under the BMW maintenance warranty for up to 100,000 miles or 3 years, whichever would come first. I confirmed several times with the salesman to ensure that I was covered under the maintenance warranty, which covers all wear and tear items, and he indicated the car was fully covered. I than finalized the purchase.

I took my car in for service to another BMW dealer in February of 2013. I was advised by this dealership that my warranty was going to expire at 50,000 miles. I told them that information was inaccurate and that I should be fully covered until 100,000 miles. They advised me to call Devon Hill Motors where I had purchased the vehicle. I then called Devon Hill and was told that my maintenance warranty did in fact end at 50,000 miles. I tried to contacting the original salesman but was advised that he no longer was employed by Devon Hill Motors.

I believe that this miscommunication of warranty coverage, along with many other issues that happened at the time of sale, were due to this salesman’s inexperience. Devon Hill Motors should be held accountable for this miscommunication and I feel that they are at fault for hiring inexperienced personnel who are promising customers with misinformation prompting them to make a sale. Had I known at the time of sale this vehicle was only covered up to 50,000 miles I would have not made this purchase.Desired Settlement: Request Devon Hill Motors to absorb the cost of the maintenance warranty so the vehicle is covered up to 100,000 miles as promised. Estimated cost between $1,995.00 - $2,500.
