Review: I just received a threatening letter "signed" by [redacted] from Devoted Property Management. This letter says "Delinquency Notice" on the top, and it has no explanation of why. It claims that I am "delinquent, to the Ivy Club HOA, in the amount of $330.00. (The number amount is written into a blank space.) There is nothing to support this claim. The letter then threatens to disconnect my water. "Failure to pay this amount within ten days of this notice will result in the disconnection of your water." This is illegal. The Ivy Club is the name of condos; I have owned my unit for 15 years. I have paid my monthly dues every month on time, the first week of the month. I have this on my records. I have not received any other communication from this "company", other than the letter which is attempting to collect a large sum of extra money. For one thing, I have no reason to pay this amount (especially without anything showing what for). For another thing, I am a single mother with a small income, and I could not afford to pay such an amount in my position. I am very distressed as a result of this harassing letter.Desired Settlement: I am requesting for this to be resolved by this "company" ceasing to threaten me, whether with disconnecting my water or with anything else. Also, I am making sure (by any and all means necessary) that they do not actually attempt to disconnect my water or otherwise harass and/or terrorize me and my daughter. I am requesting some form of decent communication from this "company", at least to tell me whether this letter actually came from them. Then I require an explanation of this letter.

Response:

This person has put in a complaint before regarding the exact same "Delinquency Letter". I have included in the attachments her complaint and my response. I have also included the follow up letter that I sent her, her letter in response to my letter, and a letter from the Ivy Club Homeowners Association Board of Directors. She never contacted me again and never paid the delinquent amount. All of the letters and my response clearly outline what she needed to do as I had exhausted all avenues that I could. She needs to do her part and she did not. I would also like to bring up a very clear and valid point that in April 2012 she paid her dues with check number [redacted], she did not pay in May 2012, and in June 2012 she paid with check number [redacted]. So her saying that the check was lost, how can that be if the very next sequenced check was used for the following month. I have also attached a letter that I sent her dated March 18th, 2013 regarding the delinquent amount and she never responded. She did not pay her June condo dues on time in the month of June 2013 and that is why she received the "Delinquency Letter" again. I have a copy of her check that I just picked up in the drop box along with the other checks that were in there along with the current mail. Although her check was dated 6/5/13, all of the other checks were dated 6/17/13 or later (some of which are checks from banks). My previously last deposited checks from the Ivy Club were on June 20th. Anyone can date a check for earlier in the month, but a bank can not. As you can see from the "Delinquency Letter" dated 6/19/13, the Ivy Club Condos information is at the header of the letter and my information "Devoted Property Management" is at the bottom, so I do not understand why she is confused as to whom the letter is from. The letter also has my phone number on it. She has never called me and if she has (which she said that she did in her letter from August 2012), she never left a voice-mail. As I mentioned in my response from her first complaint back in July 2012, this is a form letter from the Ivy Club Condos and they do have a right to shut off water to delinquent units. This policy was written by an attorney and recorded as part of the Ivy Club Condos Declaration and/or By-Laws. After responding to her first complaint made to the Revdex.com and the follow up letters that I sent to her, I do not know how much more clear that I can be. I am not harassing her nor am I threatening her. If anything she is harassing me, she knows that she owes the money and she thinks that by complaining to the Revdex.com, that I am going to give in which I do not even have the ability to do. From this point on, if she has a complaint, she needs to attend an Ivy Club Board Meeting and address the HOA Board as I am just an Independent Contractor following my duties as a manager.
