Our service tech, Don, did let *** know that the head would not water the area by the “pop out” without getting water in the window well. Don informed *** that in order to keep water out of the window well and off the “pop out’ of the house that he would need to add small heads and a drip line All repairs and modifications that we have done were at Karen’s request. According to our work order records, our company did not install this system. We have only been called for winterizations, start ups and minor repairs in the past In this case, Dew Drop corrected a problem area that *** demanded we fix. Dew Drop did waive the return service call fee and we have only invoiced for the time and material required to solve a specific problem. We refuse to take responsibility for a sprinkler system that we did not design or installWe expect to be paid for the work we did to correct an existing problem

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Dew Drop has been the only sprinkler company that has been at this home since I moved in years ago When they initially came out this year I was told that this sprinkler head (whether they installed it or not) was the appropriate head for the work it needed to do, which included watering the flowers along the side of the home Now I was told that it was the incorrect sprinkler, and that a drip system was needed I definitely was not told that there would be a charge for the correction In fact, I spoke several times with the office staff, giving my concern that I would have to pay for another visit, and at least once with the owner The owner told me by phone that we would work something out that would be fair to both parties, which is why I called the office and allowed the visit to occur.Furthermore, I most certainly did not insist that I only pay for materials and no labor That was offered to me by his staff person when that staff person was asked to call me by the owner The employee asked if I would be happy with paying for just materials I said yes He said that he would speak with the owner, and he told me by phone that the owner said he would consider that When the owner called me he said he would not consider it Again, the owner states that I was "fully informed of the charges" which is not true I agreed to have the service only because the owner said the charges would be "fair to both parties." I furthermore was not told what the charges would be and found out when I called my daughter from out of town to ask what the invoice said.Dew Drop failed to tell me initially that the sprinkler head was the wrong system for that area, and then put in a drip system and requests that I pay for it If my system in that area was "poorly designed" as the owner states then the employee should have stated that on the initial visit in

Spokane, WA The first invoice for $was to cover the routine start up and check of the sprinkler system. Some low performing heads were pointed out and the customer said she would purchase them herselfThe second invoice for $was for the installation of the customer’s heads and for adding one sprinkler to the garden area. At this service call, one head by the “bump out” next to the home was adjusted while she observed and approved. At this time, the service technician advised the customer that this head was intended to water the lawn and the correct way to insure that the water would not get on the home, would be to add small sprinklers to water the area by the “bump out”. The final invoice for $has been reduced to $261.99. This service call was to add the small sprinklers and relocate the lawn rotor head to prevent water from hitting the “bump out”. The customer requested that this work be done. She was notified that she would be charged for this work at standard rates. The service charge for sending the technician back to the house has been waivedShe is only being charged for the labor and material to correct an existing problemDew Drop did not originally install the head that was causing the problem so this is not a warranty issue

I would like this to be reopened, as I was out of internet connection until Saturday, August 13, and received the Revdex.com email on that date.   I had been attempting to reach the owner's employee and finally spoke with him yesterday.  We discussed the issues and he stated that he would speak with the owner late this week or next Monday, August 21.     I hope to hear a response from the owner or from his staff.     Please let me know if I need to provide any of this information in any other manner.   Thanks for your help - your time is appreciated.

I purchased a home through [redacted], the lawn was done by Dew Drop as per the contract with [redacted]. The contract for the lawn was with me through that purchase of the home. Dew Drop had actually contacted me at one time to address the issues, but then never followed-up on that contact. It seems to me that both [redacted], and Dew Drop just want to pass the buck, not honor any warranties, and are therefore in breach of the warranty contract as of this date.

Review: the landscape sprinkler company came out to put in sprinkler system in back yard. they used a machine to dig up sprinkler system lines and they punched holes in the new vinyl fencing. the fancing did not have damage. The fence is new and verified by builder [redacted] that it had no damage before the Sprinkler company came out to put in the sprinklers . the damage is clear since its next to the sprinklers and the holes that are punched with the machine they used to dig up the ground.

The sprinkler company is rude, not answering calls, not respondingDesired Settlement: I just want them to come do the repairs they caused or they can hire somebody to get the work done .

I simply want the damaged repaired at their cost since they caused the damage.

GOOD TECH PEOPLE BUT BAD OFFICE/SCHEDULING STAFF. SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR OF POOR SCHEDULING AND THEN RUDE, ARGUMENTATIVE, DEFENSIVE OFFICE STAFF. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I RECOMMEND OR USE THIS BUSINESS

Review: We have been using Dew Drop Sprinklers for almost 4 years to winterize our sprinkler system. Last spring, we hired Dew Drop for their Spring Start-Up package because we had never had a sprinkler inspection, and we explained to the person scheduling that we wanted to make sure everything was in good working order, and she said that the inspection was part of the package. So we bought the Start-Up/inspection, and when they inspected our system we received their report that nothing was wrong with our system except some leaks in the sprinkler heads outside, which we fixed. In the winter, Dew Drop came to winterize. They blew out the sprinklers and then the pipes burst inside our house, breaking our back-flow valve and rendering our system inoperable. This caused significant damage to the carpet where their service tech was tracking muddy boots through the house and got a portion of our interior wet. We had to clean up the water from the floors and walls, dehumidify the room for 24 hours, and have the carpets cleaned. When I called to talk to [redacted], the co-owner, he explained that the burst pipes werent his fault because our system was a ticking time bomb. I questioned why their Spring Start-Up Inspection report didnt report this, and why after 3 years of service with Dew Drop none of their workers had ever told us this. He said his technician [redacted] said he had seen so many bad systems and had become jaded and [redacted] knew our system was a ticking time bomb but decided not to say anything about it to us. I explained to [redacted] that its not my fault that his technician was jaded, and we paid for an evaluation, [redacted] understood, and asked if we would meet him halfway he would fix the broken system (all we had to do was pay for parts) and I would be responsible for the carpet cleaning and water damage. He told me to call him in the spring to arrange service to fix our sprinkler system. I called him in the spring and he told me decided he changed his mind and the only way he was going to fix the system is if I signed a waiver releasing them from further liability, and that I would have to hire a plumber actually connect the system. I agreed. He told me to call back and schedule. I called back to schedule this and spoke with [redacted], who said they changed their minds again and that I would be responsible for labor too but that they would credit this amount back to my 2013 winterization. I told him this wasnt part of the original agreement and he suggested I talk to [redacted], but he wouldnt pass the phone to him, even though he was sitting right there. So I called back another day, spoke with [redacted], who changed his mind yet again, and said they wouldnt credit my account for the labor I have to pay them, that I would be responsible for parts and labor. I told him I didnt understand why things kept changing. He replied he didnt like the way this relationship was going and he told me he wasnt going to fix the valve they broke and that he would never do business with me again. I asked if we could talk about it and he said no. He was completely rude and refused to answer or return any of our phonecalls that week. They sent me a check for the amount I paid for the faulty winterization wherein they burst my pipes. Now I am left with a broken sprinkler system and extreme frustration. I am appalled at Dew Drops refusal to uphold our original agreement.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of the Spring Start-Up inspection (in addition to the winterization refund they issued) and partial financial responsibility for the damage caused to the interior of my home and my sprinkler system.

Regarding

ID: 9499336

[redacted], customer

Dew Drop

Sprinklers and Landscaping was hired last spring to start up the sprinkler

system at the rental property of [redacted] and [redacted] at [redacted] and to make sure

it was operational. At the time, the

customer paid $130, which paid for the 2012 spring start up and fall

winterization. The system was checked by

an experienced sprinkler technician, [redacted], for proper water coverage and it was

determined that 3 zones needed repaired, and the customer would fix it

themselves. Dew Drop completed the start

up, identified the problem areas, and notified the customer. The spring system

start up was completed satisfactorily.

In October,

Dew Drop was hired to winterize the sprinkler system. During the winterization, after the sprinkler

system water was turned off, a part in the basement broke and the water left in

the pipe ran into the basement.

Fortunately, the quick-thinking technician found it right away (it was

inside and he was outside) and turned off the air pressure. The area where the water and air sprayed was

in an unfinished mechanical basement room so any damage was minimal. Dew Drop did not break any valves, parts, or

piping. After further examination it was

noted that the part that failed was installed incorrectly and the material used

was never intended for use within a structure.

It did not meet plumbing code.

There is no test that determines when a part will break and it can

happen at any time. A plumber is needed

to make this repair because it is installed in the house. Dew Drop technicians cannot legally work on

inside piping, as this work must be performed by a licensed plumber. The

sprinkler system appears to be a homeowner installed system and while it

worked, a licensed and bonded irrigation contractor would have installed it

differently.

It sounds

as if the [redacted]’s expected Dew Drop to identify when the part would

break. That is not possible. As a measure of good faith and because of the

good relationship Dew Drop has had in the past with the [redacted]’s the $65

associated with the winterization was refunded April 3, 2013 to the [redacted]’s. We are sorry that the part broke and are

thankful that there was no significant damage.

We wish the [redacted]’s well and recommend that they use a plumber to install

code-approved backflow protection and correct the piping issues inside the

home.

We thank

the Revdex.com for its services and help.

Sincerely,

Consumer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9499336, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

We paid Dew Drop to inspect our sprinkler system last spring. Dew Drop came into our home to inspect the area which ended up breaking. Later, in the winter when Dew Drop blew out our system and it broke, [redacted] said our system was a "ticking time bomb" and when I asked why Dew Drop never mentioned this to us upon earlier inspections, he said he wondered the same thing, and asked his technician, and said his technician said he was "jaded" because he had seen so many bad sprinklers. [redacted] said the technician was able to tell the system wasn't the way it should have been, but he failed to report this to us before it broke and wet the basement.
