PPA provides payment processing services for many different entities We do not charge a penny to any consumer account Our system automatically sends an email and the penny transaction on the same day to alert consumers when a free trial offer is nearing an end The penny item
includes our phone number and the email inlcudes a cancellation link Clicking this link cancels the live debit transaction provided cancellation is received in time to cancel live transaction We have the process in place as we understand there are instances where consumers may not recall signing up for a free trial Therefore, we want to make certain they are aware of a trial offers end, avoiding any service continuance There is no refund due as we did not charge the consumers account A penny deposit was made to the consumer In addition, it does not appear the actual charge was processed as the item was cancelled using the cancellation process in the email Certainly if we were attempting to scam anyone we would not go to such extremes to attract the consumers attention and provide as many opportunities as possible for the consumer to inquire about a pending transaction and cancel it. Should we need to provide additional details please let us know. Thank You

This individual was refunded on 8/24/for both the charge of $and $ The penny item referenced was a credit to the bank account and not a debit therefore there is no refund due This individual was referred direct to our customer for refund processing and service
cancellation, which we have confirmed the actual refund transactions to the bank account At this time there is no more money due this individual The refunds were processed by the company who does all of our refunds for us, *** *** Please let me know if you require any additional information Thank you

The penny transaction is a verification transaction done in advance of an authorized online purchase In many cases the individual has taken advantage of a free trial offer which is coming to an end The penny item is part of the process to alert them their trial is coming to an end
The consumers statement about us conducting a transaction every year is not accurate This individual actually cancelled the service from an email that was sent to her at the same time the penny item was sent The service has been cancelled and the penny was a credit so there is no refund due at this time Our penny deposit to her account would not create an overdraft, therefore the claim of $is invalid Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
The bank account they are refundig too has since been closed due to this fraudulent charges... I did contact their company and the only thing I ever got in the 4+ times I called was an answerio machine that wouldn't allow me to leave a message. So yes I do want my money back but it can not be sent to the account in question

Unfortunately we were just made aware of the bank account closure.  If that had been brought to our attention prior to this complaint being filed the refund could have been issued manually via check.  However, typically refunding the original account that was charged is sufficient.  The bank will return the funds to us if the bank account is in fact closed.  If the consumer would provide an address for us to mail a manual refund we will send the funds as soon as the bank confirms the account is closed and the refund sent is rejected.  To respond to the consumers complaint they reached our answering machine and was not able to leave a message.   Our phone logs have been reviewed for the consumers phone number during this time and we do not see where that number was logged into our system at any time.  Is it possible the consumer was calling another number?  Or, possibly calling after our business hours of 9am to 3pm cst?  Thank you.

A refund of $40.00 has been issued to this individual.  Please note prior to the charge of $40 being processed an email confirmation was sent to the gmail address indicated in this complaint.  This is for a free trial offer that ended.  We have cancelled the service and issued a...

refund with the vendor.  The refund will appear on the bank statement as call [redacted].  This consumer made no attempt to contact us prior to filing this complaint.  Had a call been placed to our offices the refund could have been processed much sooner.Thank you.
